What else do I need?

Before I head to my local hydro place to pick up a few things, I was wondering: What else do you guys think I need? Here are the supplies I have so far in terms of nutrients/soils/ferts:

  1. Fox Farm Ocean Forrest Potting Soil
  2. Vigoro Blood Meal (12-0-0)
  3. Earth Juice Bloom (0-3-1)
  4. Earth Juice Grow (2-1-1)
  5. Perlite
  6. Sphagnum Moss (NOT peat moss, different type, isn't made out of dead material, so reusable, or so it says on the back)
  7. Schultz Plant Food (10-15-10)
What I'll probably do is use the EJ stuff at every watering or every other watering, and the Schultz maybe every third watering.

Do I need anything else ingredients-wise, like molasses?

Also, I'm trying to decide which would be better to use during the veg. stage: The Blood Meal I purchased with a ratio of 12-0-0, or a bag of Bat Guano Powder from my local hydro place which has a ratio of 10-2-1. I don't want to overdo anything and lead to nute burn :(. I was thinking of perhaps purchasing the Bat Guano, and returning the Blood meal in exchange for a bag of bone meal (1-11-0).

Many thanks for your help guys!

okay no need for the shultz if you got EJ.
you would want to feed every other water..
and FF Ocean Forest got nutes in it so it'll be a lil while before you end u feeding;).
pple are talking down molasses but i haven't seen a problem wit it.

you basically got everything as long as u got lights lol:hump:
Blood meal? thats too many nutes for a plant.. well blood meal and EJ nutes.
you would have to use very very lil blood meal and burn still might happen.
So if you decide to go Blood or Bat you would need small amt and small amt of nutes.

I have bought a couple moisture meters, but none of them worked that well. I find the best moisture meter is your finger.

Wow, quick response - thanks guys!

In terms of grow equipment, I'm pretty much covered there - just needed advice on "ingredients". I already got the pH tester, pH Down (my tap water's pH level is at 7.2-7.5, so I need to lower it), Temperature/Humidity meter, Illuminated Microscope, Pots, Watering pot, garden tools, etc.

In terms of the moisture meter, I'm kinda at a stalemate as to whether I should get one or not. An article in the GrowFAQ's recommends I get one of those Rapidtest models, but specifically states I should avoid the two pronged one. I don't know, it just seems like overkill to me.

Hmm...I dunno if I really need it - I was kinda hoping to go by the "look, feel, and lift
pot" method, supplemented by sticking my finger in the soil as Ganjababy recommends.

So, from what you guys are saying, I have no need for the Schultz Plant Food and the Blood meal if I'm already using the EJ bloom/grow right? The EJ stuff costs about $25 each for a Gallon, and about $11 each for 32 oz.; What should I keep and what should I return?

Question: Wait so I should get pH Up as well? My water's base pH level is again around 7.2, so how would that affect the soil pH after the water gets mixed with the nutes/ferts?

The blood meal will feed your plants for a while. If you use the blood meal there really is no need for another veg nutrient. Especially if you are using Ocean Forest soil you will probably burn a little bit

Should I mix Perlite into the Soil and then put them in the Dixie cups for my seedlings, or should I hold off on the Perlite/Moss until I have to transplant into bigger pots?
