I'm going through some problems. The leaves seem to look extra thin. I think it's a genetic, due to being a sativa.

Another thing being. The problem with the leaves looks like it's burning. I'm using a 300W mars hydro led with 45cm

I haven't put any nutrients in there yet.

And again, I'm not trying to go in to it hardcore. Just kind of leave it as some indoor bushbud.

thin leaves are the least of your problems. What medium are they in? Are they cuts or seedlings? They look overwatered for sure, and hungry

First guess, that medium you're using is staying too wet and/or too compacted. At the least I'd let them dry very well between waterings. But I would get them into a properly aerated mix asap, without killing them in the process. ;)

So I'm going to get some perlite, and do I just sprinkle it on top or mix it in with the dirt?


They're seeds, been around 2-3 weeks. And in dirt

I haven't watered them in around 2 weeks.

I use measuring cup around 1litre ish. Which I use for each pot.

Transplant into some proper soil asap buddy, those plants are crying for some help. You need good soil with aeration.

That's a problem then. Either you're not telling the truth or that is really shitty soil. I see in one pic the soil looks freshly watered arou d the edge.

Crappy soil. Compacted. Over watered.

Don't put the perlite on top, mix it with some good soil.

planted into jiffy, saw in the first week with 24hr light. Planted into shitty soil as a temporary placeholder.

I've been putting off buying soil for a bit.

Any recommendations in Australia?

No, Don't sprinkle perlite on top of the soil, this will do absolutely nothing to help with the rooot zone being a nice loose air filled soil. Your plants are starving for oxygen at the rootzone.

You have to actually do it, not just continue along as you have been.

You have to go buy some soil from a garden centre or some store, you make sure it has perlite white specks in it and ask or just do it, cut open and feel it and make sure it fluffy and soft 10 times airyer and fluffier than what yours was, it must not look and feel like moist shit in your hands and compact! dont buy bag manure cow, sheep, chicken, etc. you want nice fluffy soil. Your marijuana's base to grow in making it feel like it is growing on a hilltop in beautiful outside soil. not growing out of a rock. rock = your soil.

Buy a small bag of more perlite which you will mix in with the big bag of soil.

Get bigger pots that have holes in the bottom.

Now carefully transplant your dying babies into this fresh soil mix in the new pots doing everything with extreme care. (two 'cares' in that sentence!)

1L for those pots you were using before was too much. those size pots with those sized plants would of only needed less than half of 1L every 3-4 days(3-4 days that is if the soil was normal and properly dried as it should.) Do not overwater again now. After you get them in the new pots in the new soil gently water them with 500ml of water each plant in a circle around the pot not in the middle at the stem or leaves. raise the lights a bit because the plants wont be in full light processing mode now and will just be a burden to them. Done. leave them alone for a few days.

I realize you are for real and are having serious plant issues is why I write this and the plants will not survive unless you do what I write. They're garbage right now. no offence. you tried your way now listen to us on here, we wanna help.

There are some pre made bags, e.g 50% perlite, 50% peat moss. Should I get them, or stick with making my own?

Ya know what, if you have Promix BX or HP down under over there, I'd get that and be done with it, use the Alaska Fish fert as your veg food, and morbloom later when flowering. Done.

And I'll help you down the road no worries if this suggestion raises any questions.

edit- You'll also need a ph meter, or if you dont want to have to ph your waterings, get some powdered dolomitic limestone/dolomite lime, it's super cheap.

A simple gardening mix ( bagged ) is better than that yard dirt. Looks clay like ... Up pot the container into better soil. Plants are looking for Nutes and is stressing out.

I don't know that I would be that gentle. I mean I would be gentle but I would work them out of that soil.

I've went as far as washing soil off roots. I don't know I would go that far but I would work most of the old soil off the roots.
