What will happen if i grow in 90 degrees?

I cannot get the temps to come down.. They are stuck at around 90 degrees. luckily winter is coming up, hopefully it cools the temps down a bit but what if it doesnt? If i put some clones in there and start vegging am i gonna have problems?

my seedlings are doing ok in 90 degree temps... germed in about the smae too... my temps usually range from 80-85... but will get like 5 degrees more or less...


if you can, for 100 bucks, get a little 5000 btu a/c unit from like home depot, lowes, kmart, target, walmart, etc. etc. etc.... it'll keep you plenty cool all year long

im sure its fine, people grow in afghanistan im sure your plants can handle the heat, and also where i am in southern ontario, some days this summer it reached 36 C and with the humidex it was 41 C or something like that and my outdoor plants were alright. just make sure they have enough water but not too much .

here's my temps,,and my plant,,somethings werkin,,lower temp is where unit is,,higher temp is at top of plant,,but the lil upper indicator is a lil plastic thing and prolly sucks up the light heat

Seedling should have a higher temp and humidity.

90-100 deg. Your plant will live. It will flower and it will produce bud BUT your odds of getting a hermie are higher and your odds of a female are lower. As for THC It will be there, and your weed will get you high, BUT it will have less THC than it would of had if the plant didn't have to devote its resources to protecting it from high heat.

alright sweet...ok about the ac unit though how much power is that gonna use though to keep it running? alright thanks for the info guys... about the chances of it being a female what if its a clone? my buddy is giving me up with 2 white widows that are just about done rooting so if they are clones would i have to worry about it turning male still? alright again thanks a ton guys im gonna look into the ac unit and see what its gonna run me. for now im just going to get some plants in there and hope for the best. i appreciate the help guys.

If they are clones you are safer. But many of clones have become hermies due to high stress. I dont think 90 will do it. Some guy posted pics of his plants. notice the leaves curling and no crystals. My AC was $89 at home depot 5000 btu

they run at around 500w but you would only need to cycle it for short times during lights on... so it wouldn't be too bad

Give them plenty of water, stay on top of that. Now, my temps go no lower than 82 and they can peak at 98. Give them water and they will grow. I look at my front yard, we have had minimal rain. All I see is weeds growing and I sure and the hell do not water my yard weeds.

The grass is dieing, weeds are growing, and I dont water my yard. A bit different? Is it? Work with what you have, keep an eye on them, learn and listen to them. Its a weed, it will grow.

All they need is water and light.

Regardless you will really want to get thos temps down. Plant growth nearly stops around 90 or higher. I understand that it gets hot all over the world but its not that hot everyday, there are weather flucuations thats how plants stay alive outside. For the ones still growin in those high temp your yeilds will suffer LARGE!

Tell that to my plants.

alright so 500w extra hmm... yeah i never thought about the fact i wouldnt need to run it all the time.. well it sounds like 90 will work for some so im willing to try it. ill put the clones in tomorrow then and ill probably try exchange my 600 for a 400. I have a feeling that will make the temp just right but i will lose alot of lumens which sucks but it sounds like it would end up being a better pay off. for now though ill start them. thanks for all the advice it helps a ton.

Is your reflector vented?

Get those temps down, use ice or whatever you have to.
I started flowering at around 80F, nice crystallized plant, then socal had a heat wave in the mid 90s. Saw a drop in amount of crystals. I was PISSED

well i changed my setup a little bit now my 170 is sucking air through the filter inside the box through the cooltube out of the closet and my stanley fan is sucking air into the box and blowing it inside the box. the temps are now like 88 or so and my buddy came over and said it should be fine. The clones are in now hes giving me a few more to throw in there... the temps seem fine when im in there, with the door open it gets down to 85 it seems like. but yeah im hoping for the best on this first grow ive ever done i expect to learn quite a bit. thanks for all the tips and advice guys.

Dont be killing yourself trying to get under 90. Last time my plant was always in 90F and it grew just as fast as others would. As for details like THC production and chances of hermies im not sure if it is a major factor. If you can, lower it, if you cant then see if the plant has any problems and THEN spend the extra 100 bucks if you need to. Thats my suggestion. 5 F plus minus wont kill your plant.

right i am going to see how these turn out... they have been in there for 2 days now and lets just say they arent looking too good. My buddy said dont give up as they could take a few days before they root into the soil and they could look horrible up until then and they should spring back up.. the leaves are floppy and some are turning pretty yellow with the stems a bit on the red side.. i am checking them regularly and misting them with water and what not..they arent dead they just dont look like they are happy heh....yeah im probably going to hold out on the ac unit until i know the results on these guys.

i had my grow basically stop because my temps were over 90, it slows them down ALOT
and if you dont get it down, your grow is not going to work, that is how important it is(unless u get co2)
with co2 you can grow at 90
but without it
ur doomed lol
