I have harvested an auto Maramota plant only to find that it had crossed with a standard Northern Lights....Any thoughts on if I'll get a dwarf, semi-dwarf, or standard plant from these seed...Just wondering how the Ruderalis will trail down in the genetics.

theres a chance that 25% of the offspring may carry the autoflowering trait, but if this was an accidental pollination I would not personally consider the seeds as very worthwhile. I dont have alot of space and I cant waste any on mystery plants that were the result of carelessness as opposed to careful selection.

the seeds will produce 100% photo plants, if u breed them F1 to F1 (full sib) the F2 will produce 25% autos 25% photos and 50% auto carriers that will be phenotypically photoresponsive.

Thats not true bro, not at all. please try not to spread misinformation.
youve got a point on the second part but hey to each his own, lots of folks just like growin bagseed and seeing what they get. its like opening a deck of pokemon cards and waiting to see if you got a bunch of power ups or a holographic charizard lol its a gamble, keeps things fresh.

Yeah...I'm thinking that I will place a few of them away from the others...That way, if I get a mix of sizes and sexes, I can at least continue the line if the Northern Lights improves the Marmota (which, I like). The seeds look so healthy, it would be a shame for some of them not to carry on.

please explain how I am spreading misinformation? I said that 25% of the offspring may carry the autoflowering trait. I did not say they would be photo or auto did i?

regardless of if you like "spicing things up" with mystery seeds I personally need all of my plants to be quality because I need the medicine I get from them. The only way I can be sure that I will end up with good plants and as such medicine is if I start with good genetics. Dont be so quick to tell someone theyre wrong and "spreading misinformation" bro

I added this edit to make sure you dont think im trying to be a dick, as thats not my intent but when I read my post it sounded kinda douchey

I am blessed with enough land--out in the countryside, so that I can afford to "dabble" at it as I will...Still, I am on disability and my check is a pittance...Therefore, buying enough seeds for my wishes, cuts into other funds around home...Who knows, I may have had a bout of serandipity and created a great new strain...Hahahaha!

Pollen chucking is lots of fun and like a box of chocolates you never know what you're gonna get. :)

I'm going through the process to make an auto flowering variety of my favourite cross now. I liked Kali Mist for it's uplifting effect on my mood to keep the blues away but a bit too much and I'd have a minor anxiety attack for the first 15 min or so. I crossed that with Northern Lights #5 and the right pheno works great without the anxiety.

Now I've crossed that with Purple Jem auto and have sprouted 6 so far. Two were males and flowered under 20/4 light but the four girls just put out some tiny flowers but didn't actually go into flowering. I have them flowering now under 13/11 light and will be using pollen from both the males to get some F2 seeds that will hopefully give me some autoflowering girls the next round. Those will be re-bred to make lots of seeds for planting outdoors next spring. I'm so far north that regular photoperiod plants just get started flowering in the middle of August and we can get frost by the end of August tho the last couple years some early finishers could have made it. Thank Jah for global warming! :D

:peace:

because that is WRONG if you cross a photo to an auto 100% of the F1 will be auto carriers not 25%

thats great man im glad you know what you want but not everyone is you so... different strokes for different folks

you ARE wrong and you ARE spreading misinformation, trust me I have bred a strain from a photoXauto cross I know what im talking about. Im not trying to be mean either bro but I want the ppl seeking info on this forum to get quality info from experienced growers not stoner science and false facts, nothing against you personally.

Now that Ive done a considerable amount of reading on the subject I see what you were saying. I was wording my shit poorly as a result of a bad understanding of breeding/cannabis genetics. Not that my understanding of the subject matter has gotten any clearer, the more of it I read. By the time I foray into breeding, Im sure Ill be able to at least draw punnet squares correctly lol. /endramble
