If I wired up this DC digital display multifunction meter. It's rated for 100v DC
20A up to 2000watts.
I only want to use it to measure the current. My light would exceed the 100v rating but would it still function to give the amperage rating? My driver pushes like 230 volts at Max. But I want to know amps, not volts. The drivers Max at 1.4a.

Will it seriously fry? Will it legit catch fire or not allow the full current to travel through? I have a multimeter and I've checked the draw and such but these displays are cleaner. If it'll allow the current through just Max out at 100v, I'm good with it. If it's going to melt, not so much.

Think about this for one minute. You have a gallon of water to measure and you want to pour the gallon into two quarts
You have 2 qrts left..look guys, I'm no electrician nor have I taken any sort of training. I have, however, been messing with electronics since I could pretty much walk. I hooked it all up, and seems to be fine minus the voltage maxing out. My cobs are still operating, the same as all the others (not hooked into this drivers circuit). It seems a bit high on the amp side, maxed out. This is on the HLG-320C-1400A. And the multimeter readings confirm it's off a bit. But not much. Thanks for all the answers I guess. But hooking it up was a breeze with the baro connectors I use. So I can always just bypass it in the future. This particular model is intended for DC power, which is what it's on. But if I want a display, to operate within this circuits range, at 223v, 2A max, on the DC side, where do I look. Bcuz trust me I've looked. Only ones I can seem to find for that high of a Current, are intended for AC use. Are those safe to hook up to the DC side? If so I can swap this out in a breeze and put this other one on..

I've got a couple of these on order, didn't notice the voltage problem - thankfully I'm running CV drivers... I guess this is just 1 more advantage they have over the CC.

Nice to know that the meters won't immediately blow up when measuring >100v, definitely wouldn't leave it hooked up for any length of time though.
