Anyone know if a plants genetics can cause dark leaves? my purple animal kush has super dark leaves, but look super healthy. theyre standing flat, no burns, just darker leaves compared to the rest. Anyone seen dark green into flower on any strains?

A very dark green color is the first stage of Ntox. Yes, they will "look" very healthy, but if it continues too long it may turn into the "nitrogen claw".

Yeah so I've read but they've always been this color. I thought it was this at first but neither a flush nor lowering nutes had any effect. Which led me to ask this question. The other strains I have are all perfect emerald green. I saw pics on google of purple animal kush and the leaf structure and darkness look similar but I can only find late stage flowering pics where the fans and sugar leaves are already a dark purple. So yeah trying to see if it's possible it could be strain related.

That's good to know bc they're so damn pretty but compared to the other strains they're just darker! Don't even have the slightly white tips to show they're at the nute max. I'm waiting anxiously for these colors to show!

look up online photos and symptoms, then you can compare just pluck a leaf off to compare its idiot proof dude have you used cal-mag depending on symptoms.
hope it helps dude always have a mini microscope to hand there cheap to buy and come in handy for spotting trouble early on and deal with the problem

it doesn't matter on the strain after all there only a weed and are hardy plants, as we all no weeds grow every were, there just plants in the wrong place nothing more, A little bit of common sense goes along way.

Some strains are darker some are lighter just like different kinds of tomatoe and different carrots. If your leaves are much darker than is tipical for the strain its a sign of to much nitrogen.

Just keep watch. google nitrogen claw thats the second stage of to much nitrogen. No claw your probably just fine

Fellas fellas. I appreciate the input but I know how to google. Been on many a search pages to try and get answers and only post questions on here when I'm still left scratching my head. It's the genetics for sure. The leaf is darker like an olive green. No clawing no burns. Straight perfection otherwise. I believe since it's purple animal kush it starts to get darker until it fades into dark purple. I appreciate the help but I'm with Dynam on this one. Just like there are diff tomatos and diff looking buds for that matter, you're gonna have different types of leaf coloring outside of deficiencies/toxicities
Day 27!
