Ive been growing for about two weeks, and growth seems slow as are the leafs curling down. Ive got two 100 watt cfls , phd water at 6.5, and water everyday or every othere depending on how wet the soil is on the meter I use, trying to keep it at 4 on a 1-10 scale. temps stay around 80 - 85 with ventalation and an aosicalting fan. Any ideas whats wrong or what i should do to increase growth?

let them go from completely soaked to almost completely dry. These are weeds. They will like the fluctuation and it gives them time to recoup. I would recommend changing your soil to coco or at least some compost/dirt/sand mix. I dont like having those white chunks of fertilizer. they burn the roots, they change the ph, and you cant control your flushing cycle. You will find that without a good soil mix you will have issues with air getting to the roots, root rot, dampening down, and many more problems. I like coco because it always holds air well and is pre ph balanced. it is easily produced, renewable, and holds nutrients for the plant which takes what it needs. Canna makes a line that is specifically for coco. check it out if you decide to go this route.
