Hey guys. Looking to improve my soil mix. Wondering what everyone else is using. Mine is as far:

Organic soil: peralite, Vermiculite, Peat moss
Worm castings
Bat guano (veg/ high nit)

I am finding that this recipe, and my soil is too dense. I am thinking of adding some lime and maybe more peralite and peat moss.

What are you guys using?

I use 75-80% miracle grow moisture control and 20-25% miracle grow pearlite. I was thinking of getting bone meal and blood meal but I wasn't sure how much I should add to my mix. If anyone can help please let me know, thanks.

60% Professional planting mix (from local nursery), 20% perlite, 20% vermiculite.... i wana lean to the more organic side so i'm looking into manure, guano, kelp, etc.

I use 1 pt peat moss, 1pt perlite, and 1pt mushroom compost. I add 1 tablespoon of dolomite lime per gallon of soil. You could use some perlite and peat moss.

40% fox farm ocean forest, 40% pro mix BX, and 20 % perlite. This works great and my plants are loving it. Alone the foxfarm is way to much for seedlings, but cut with pro mix and perlite its perfect.

I use a basic potting soil from a small nursery and mix it with manure, foxfarm bat guano or fresh guano from our bat houses and throw it in a big tub, mix it up and had a bunch of earth worms.

I bought blood meal and bone meal, dolomite lime, and more perilite. Am going to add those to my soils tomorrow.

Not in my potted plants. I'm not sure if they would survive foxfarm nutes. I believe if you had a big enough pot(3-7 gallon), you could just use earth worms instead of fertilizer.
I have Rubbermaids of soil mixture(my own compost). It works great. For anyone who is in the north, bat houses are easy as hell to make. A tall post, milk crate and screen. It doesn't take much bat poop and a little water dilution. My plants seem to love it and for my fertilizer I use 1-1 1/2 teaspoons of Foxfarm Grow-Big with Essential Organic Root Stimulant, some sort of 'northern bat' Guano and purified water.

This is my first grow and I'm using MG organic mixed half and half with locally-produced potting soil from an ecological center nearby. It's full of worm castings. I planted flowers in this soil as well and they're going insane. They love it. My little plants are just vegging along.

I'm not giving them any fertilizers but the worm castings until they flower and then I'm switching to bat guano. I'm trying to do it as simply as I can, and this is what another grower recommended. She said she sometimes adds the Fox Farm Grow Big but usually just worm castings. Funny that the person above me is saying basically the same thing. :)
