When exactly is day one?

Just curious because more than likely I am either impatient inexperienced with autos, or both. Is it the day it breaks soil or its first set of non singular leaves?

Ok thanks. Thinking my auto might not have the trait to auto then, Im on day 51 out of the dirt and no where near flowering. 20170121_002426.jpg

Yeah something went wrong for sure and I decided to go ahead and 12/12 the tent and let the photos start there cycle. Im gonna leave it in there though for a while with them and see how it goes. You guys all give very good advice and help. And for that I thank you all very much.

Autos need more light than 12/12. Better 20/4 18/6. 24/0 for veg 20/4 flower keeping an eye on temperature over 30c they tend to stop growing till temps drop below 30c. IMO good luck

Day one for me is when it goes in the soil. Anything else is pretending nothing is going on. That seed is growing even if you cant see it roots going down. Not counting a week of growth makes no sense.

This is day 21 from planting in soil. She is only 8" tall.View attachment 3887487
She will bush up on her own ... You are ONLY in 3 weeks ... Hopefully you are on at least 18/6 with her. Autos have a short veg stage up to week 5 ( so giving her as much light as possible is key ) , the strains genetics will also dictate general size , and she looks indica.

Try to resist overfeeding her , just keep her happy and green , she will come around.
If you goof up in this stage , she can stall , stunt or worse hermie. Autos are tempermental , they need less feeding than most photos and DO NOT HAVE THE TIME TO RECOVER from any mishaps. If you have a good soil medium ( it will carry the plant up to week 5 ) WITHOUT NUTES.

I use ph 6.5 water with a 1/4 calmag and let nature take over. Once i am in flower , my medium starts to drop off in nutes , then i begin using bloom nutes.
My autos push 4 foot plus by not overthinking it.

Actually my light cycle is 6.5/1.5 . It comes out to 19.5/4,5 . 1000 w MH. About 25" away. I know it's quite a strange light cycle but they seem to like it.

They are in roots organic+ 25℅ growstones. ( used Light Warrior in the seedling section since I planted right into 5-gallon fabric pots)

Yesterday was the only time I gave them anything other than ph 6.7 water and that was photosynthesis Plus. Wasn't planning on using any nutes till I get to bloom. With 2 Sour Diesel, 3 Northern Lights and one white widow I think they will fill the tent pretty good without veg nutes.

Personal choice.

I just started a log for this grow. I started with day zero. That was the day I put the seeds in wet tissue. They cracked the next day and I knew which direction to point them down into some potting mix. Regardless though, on my own timescale, the next day would class as Day 01.

By 'Day 3', they dropped their shell (with a little bit of help) and opened up.

The plant has several signs of being sick.

1) It's losing leafs. That does not happen unless something is wrong, or it's late in flowering. The only time a plant loses leafs in a healthy state, is when the canopy above is so thick and strong that no light is reaching the lower branches. In this case, something is still wrong (for those lower branches), but you won't care because of your lush canopy.
2) It's hard to tell because of some photo blurring, but the middle sets of leafs have discolouration. If it were clearer, we could probably have a go figuring out what is causing it. It could be a nutrient deficiency or some kind of burn (from light or other).
3) Size. This is a harder metric to gauge from, but combined with the above you can be sure something is wrong. The overall size of the plant is small, and so are the fan leafs.
