Strain - blue dream
weeks - 4 weeks
medium - ocean forest
pot size - 7 gallons
nodes - 5
tent size - 3x3x6
nutrients that i will be using - fox farm trio feeding

When is the best time to start feed this plant? Its in a 7gl pot, so it feels like I should wait a little longer only because it's a larger pot? what do you guys think?

I'm not planning on giving the full recommending amount of the fox farm trio feed but what should I give them?

Thank you for any feed back!!!!

Your plant looks very happy, so I would wait another week and then feed lightly.
Just feed them every 3rd watering in the future in that soil, because it does have a lot of nutes already in it.
Good luck.

Your plant looks really good you can tell that led is pounding it with light the way it just unfolded a short distance from the ground. My white widow was growing phenomenally until I introduce nutrients I guess it just comes with it they had a lot of complications because now I need to start monitoring my soil PH from a lockout I would give it another week of that organic goodness and then introduce them but only do it at half that is one thing I have learned don't give them the whole dose

I'm at 6 weeks with my plants in FFOF and I haven't fed anything except a little magnesium. Going to start feeding them tomorrow and go another 2 weeks of veg for a total of 2 months. And I'll of course feed through flower. I am also using 7 gallon pots.

In soil, I'd primarily focus on microbes and fungi. Make lots of compost and vermicompost teas, use water in which you cleaned out your aquarium filter etc.
Those microbes will do a far better job of relocating the existing nutrients to where the plants can consume them and create waste products the microbes want. The fungi mostly eat microbes.

The plant looks fine. Add fertilizer at very low concentration to start when the lower leaves start to fade to yellow slightly or show white tips.

Strive to see what the plant needs and when is the goal.

That little plant has a couple or more weeks before it’s roots fill that pot. With a good wet/dry cycle the roots will branch out and search all over for water and nutrients. When it can’t find what it needs is when you fertilize the soil.

I usually start at 15%-25% of the directed amount and slowly add more as the plant gets larger and starts to bloom. They need the most during stretch and peak bloom times.

The best time to feed them is when they want supplemental newts. In ffof you can go anywhere from 2 to 6 weeks, depending on the strain, keep an eye on them and then start them at no more than 25-50%
-good luck!

You guys are so helpful, thank you again for all your help!!
Yes, the community here is great, So, I went 6 weeks without fertilizing in 7 gallon pots with FFOF and that was way too long. The thing with nutrient deficiencies, is they start well before you see signs of them. So, at 6 weeks, I was starting to see signs, and by then they had been deficient for a couple weeks probably. So by the time I fertilized, it had leap-frogged and progressed like nobody's business. The next go around, I'll probably start feeding at week 2, 1/8th to 1/4 strength with FFOF, if I don't switch to hydro. Good news is, they are recovering well and about to go into flower. Welcome to the community, by the way!
