since this is my first grow in 15 years i dont want to mess it up...it will be outdoors and i am thinking it will be space jill i am going to grow...i have 2 types of soil and different dry ammendments...i want to find a ratio to mix in one bag of soil that way i can mix what i need at the time...any advice will be appreciated
soil and ammendments
fox farm ocean forrest soil
roots soil
coco bricks
pearlite
pulverized dolomite lime
composted cow manure
worm castings
blood meal
bone meal
cottonseed meal
shellfish meal
kelp meal
sul-po-mag
greensand
gypsum
mexican bat guano
jamaican bat guano
peruvian seabird guano
moisture crystals(retain water)

i also have blue mountain organics super plant tonic, grow and bloom liquids and superthrive

i am going to plant the seeds in plain roots soil next week since i think the ocean forrest is a little hot for seeds...that is why i am wanting to get a ratio for the mixed soil so i can let it cure for a few weeks before transplanting...weather here is holding so next week will be day one for w99illie's outdoor 2009
thanks for any replies...w99

i'm kinda having the same problem you are...so i'll be watching this one. just the other day getting ready for my outdoor grow i dug about 10 holes and bought some bone meal, worm castings, and bat guano. i'm deciding on whether or not to to add the ammendments with the native dirt i dug up with the holes or mix it in with some soil like roots organic.

I'm the worlds biggest compost snob, but what you've got there is definitely good to go...the potting soil is purely incidental at this point! if you have the space outside, make a compost pile for next season with those ingredients and some charcoal, and maybe azomite. then order the b.d. preps from josephine porter institute(online)-just don't mention weed to them! you'll end up with nearly unsurpassed quality compost! I'm currently running mine at 30% compost to 70% coco coir. you won't believe the smell of your aftersmoke!

OK let me be the first to ask, what is b.d. preps from josephine porter institute ? Beneficial bacteria, fungi, a compost jump starter kit ?

yeah...they go through some bizarre seeming steps to produce the preps...biodynamics can get pretty wierd; I just follow the directions, and leave the hocus pocus to the preps. you have to read about it to fully appreciate what I'm talking about.

the biggest thing for me since I don't go full out crazy with the b.d. is-starting the pile with their particular brand of innocculants , because the amount of care and time put into making them...as opposed to something you get in a jar at the garden center, which was mass produced...chez paul, or mc donald's? your choice.
