I have the 450w in a 2x4 as veg/auto light. Have two autos 3 weeks under it, they seem to like it. Also some photo seedlings. Has nice amount of white diodes among the red and blue. With veg switch on the light reminds me alot of mh. Blue/white light. Both switches somewhat blurple, more like a light pink light. Doesn't look quite so purple in person. Its not cobs or cmh, but for a little over a hundred dollars and what I'm using it for I'm happy with it.

Good read. I like the light so far. Lights up 2x4 really well. Puts off some heat but very manageable. Fans are quiet, barely hear it right next to tent. I thought about getting the 600w, at the time it was only ten dollars more than the 450.
agreed. i want to try the one i linked to in the first page, though I'm probably going to do a COB DIY build either towards the end of this grow or the beginning of next grow.

Well you should add the fact that "blurple" LEDS simply don't finish plants as well as other things! Skip CFL's too!

Nah man, my point was pricing is such that a killer HID or COB setup can be had for a great price and if he has the skills to go full DIY, it's beyond me why someone would deal with those lists of cons when they dont have to, know what I mean?

the <$10 heat sink is from an industrial supplier that sells high end aluminum heat sink waste. this means that a large(say 2'X2') heat sink was made but some of it was not needed so it was cut off and sold as scrap to the company i buy from. this means i can buy these heat sinks for <$4 a pound. meaning i can get a much larger heat sink at a fraction of the cost. on top of that, these heat sinks are much too large for a cpu.
as far as cpu, mine are always overclocked. i only run liquid cooling. i have never ran a heat sink/fan combo.

If it's the 3000k all white light spectrum ones, they aren't good for MJ. Seedlings stretch like crazy, PPFD is horrible unless directly under the light. I tested their 300w and 600w. Better to stick with a good blurple.
