Which pots would y’all use for ebb&flow

dude I used cloth pots once for my flood tables and it was the best yield I pulled off them yet. Its a pain in the ass cause the pots are pretty big since the roots cant really leave the pot, and the cloth pots seemed about ruined after a run, but it may be worth a shot if you arent large scale

What do you think of the warrior pots above.. and I’ve decided to make a small f/d table im going to use with air pots/cloth pots etc to experiment and see if they would be viable for my situation. I thought about them being root bound but a clone from no veg to straight 12/12 they should be ok I’m taking as much advice as possible. The polish stone idea I thought of but the weight deterred me from it. Considering I’m filling two 4*4 tables

I don't know warrior pots. The cloth pots work but hold a lot of moisture and I know people who used them with good results and bad results. The gravel would be to fill just the well runnoff depth and is reusable and can rinse right there without emptying. The airpots are the second best next to the net pots. No need to reinvent the wheel. Keep it simple and get a good harvest.

Why not ebb n flow with pots on a table? I've had great success with it for many years using regular pots, and the warrior pots & hydroton. Hydroton doesnt retain water so theres no fear of drainage issues.

I'm not saying they wont work, just that there are better choices IMO. If someone did a side by side comparison in one big room, I would say the difference between them would be negligible when weighed and bagged.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but net pots are typically used in for DWC setups... I have a few of them from a previous DWC grows, it's a lid/netpot combo that fits on top of a 5 gallon bucket. I know they sell just the "net pots", but those are typically used for aerocloner style growing, right? You cut out a bunch of holes in the lid of a "rubbermade" style container and drop them in...

@HydroRed, as we discussed in my journal, I'll be switching to a F&D table in the future. Do you see any issues if I use 3 gallon heavy duty nursery pots? I was thinking of covering the bottom with hydroton and filling the rest of each pot with coco.

Ok, it just seemed that your first post about root rot & drainage was very "matter of fact" and not opinion.
Also, how are you transplanting out of a net pot without destroying the roots. I use netpots on my mommas and they are completely entangled with roots. Theres no way I could ever transplant them without destroying the plants root system. Net pots are more for DWC, not flood tables.

Youre exactly right on the DWC and net pots. As for the pots you plan to use with coco -Im not a coco guy, but I wouldnt see an issue with it. Seems as though coco is the same as any other hydro medium and is virtually impossible to "overwater" with a good drainage medium in the bottom of the pot like you plan.

I tried coco for seed/clone starting. Had to deal with gnats. You might consider toasting in the oven first

I hate wasting money but the net pots I got was super small 1inch and 2 inch. Ima just them for cloning and this lettuce nft system I’m doin..thanks for all the advice guys I’ll give pic updates when I start with the build

You just put the pot in the next size up. No need to remove. I do this with soil. I was tired of potting up, its easier to transplant less work. There are different styles of net pots used in various applications.

Ok guys so I did a little time math and since all my current plants are in soil and fairly small ima try and take a crack at the tables sooner now. Ima get some autos and others and fill up both the tables. I recently germed some sour gorilla in Rockwool for a experiment with coco dtw I was trying but within one day I had some major stretch going on. I potted them deeper into the coco.. but to stay on task lol I was thinking I would germ the seeds put them in Rockwool once the pop put them in the Leca pots on table?

I used to just run the table full of hydroton and rockwool cubes. Worked fine cleaning after was a pain but whatever at least you get to burn one while picking root bits out of your trays

Edit: just to recognize the terrible spelling my fat thumbs on my phone.

Edit edit: I should probably read the whole thread before I post....
