White House complains about NYT article

"reporting' in this story amounted to finding selected quotes to support a story the reporters fully intended to write from the onset, while disregarding anything that didn't fit their point of view," White House Press Secretary Dana Perino said"

As an exercise in irony replace the word 'story' with 'war in Iraq' and 'reporter' with 'president'...it then reads as follows:

"reporting' in this story amounted to finding selected quotes to support a war in Iraq the president fully intended to write from the onset, while disregarding anything that didn't fit their point of view," White House Press Secretary Dana Perino said"

I can see why the White House would object to the NYT article as I seriously resent being lied to about the need for the war in Iraq. Even more than being lied too, I dislike the image of Bush preening about in his flight suit on the deck of an Air craft carrier with a "mission accomplished" banner in the background...if I am not mistaken that was about 4000 US service member lives ago when major combat operations were declared as being "over" and Bush and Cheney were busy back slapping each other about their "victory".

Actually we were lied to about Iraq, and it's getting to be pretty obvious that Bush and Cheney knew they were lies and even were pushing them forward. This war was started for profit and control in the middle east. The Afghan war is for the same reason, the union oil pipeline and surrounding Iran. We could care less about the people, in fact as we've seen, they are pretty disposable. Even our own kids are disposable in this power play. So what happens when Obama finally pulls his head out and leaves both countries???
