System Setup:

4x2x5 Tent
400W HPS/MH
15 Gallon Resevoir
Water Pump on timer with drip manifold
Air Pump running two 10" stones
Aquarium Heater set for 20°C (temporary)
Tri Meter ph/ppm/temp
Hygrometer
6" Grow cubes (too big to stack, not enough space, will need 4" cubes next grow to be able to stack for wicking)
Boot Tray as table for now
8" pots
Hydroton

Seeds are White Widow Autoflower Fem

Nutrients are Dutch Nutrient Formula Grow A and B

My tent is in an uninsulated shed. I'm starting now hoping my light will be sufficient heat. Decided to try autos as space is limited and I think I can get three harvests this summer if all goes well. Air temp seems to be ok in the tent with the light on 24/7 (another reason I decided on autos)
Water temp is an issue so I had to get a heater. Blew the budget on one I can set temp and has display. Figured money well spent.
Humidity is an issue this time of year so I'll have to see how that goes once the reservoir gets going. I hoping to get two healthy lady's going and see how they fill the tent. I'll need room for exhaust and filter. Those will wait for another payday. This Grow has been adding up. All I had to start with was my light. This is my first hydro Grow. My plan was dwc but my local pro talked me into this system as he swears by identical results with much less water maintenance. I guess we will see. I've had a hard time finding journals with this system. Just a few vids. Going solely on his guidance.

March 24: Day 1
2 WW Auto Seeds placed in distilled water

March 25: Day 2
Seeds placed in paper towel

March 27: Day 4
Seed #1 showing tap root
Seed #2 no change

March 28: Day 5
Seed #1 placed in rock wool
Seed #2 placed in rock wool. Showing small opening in casing
Rock wool soaked in distilled water for 4 hours then 4 hours with water ph'd to 5.5 and 300 ppm nutrients Grow A and B

March 29: Day 6
Seed # 1 starting to push through top of rw
Seed #2 showing minor tap root.

March 30: Day 7
Both placed under dome with heat pad. Temp sitting at 26°C, Humidity at %78
Watered: ph 5.5, 160 ppm
Seed #1 showing some growth but not all the way out of rw
7pm Seed #1 approx 1" out of rw
Placed in cube under 400W MH
for heat purposes
Seed #2 very slow tap root emerging

End of day Seed #1 out of rw about 1"

March 31: Day 8
System all hooked up and running. Water schedule set to run 20 mins every 12 hours. New water
PH 6.1
PPM 140
Temp 17°C - Had to get heater
Air Temp 26
Humidity %37
Seed #1 showing signs of growth but Seed #2 seems to be stuck at just small tap root showing. Could be Seed case issues. Starting a new one today.

April 1st: Day 9
Seed #3 (Day 1) placed in cup of water
Seed #1 showing small growth-real growth should be in the roots at this point. Humidity is low at %30 but not much I can do right now to adjust. Will look into humidifier next grow. Water temp 25°
PH 6.1
PPM 220
Air temp 25.5

April 2nd: Day 10 from seed
Lady #1 looking good. Hoping lots of root development going on. Colour seems good. I MacGyver'd a little dome to sit on my cube. After a few hours there was moisture showing so I lifted one side. Can't measure but I'm sure it's helping as tent humidity remains at %28. Tent Temp holding steady at 25°C which is great as it's still cold out and I'm not insulated. Room temp right now is 8°C. 400W MH and aquarium heater is all I've got for heat and I'm running it 24/7 for now.
Seed #2 is all but done. Just haven't tossed it yet.
Seed #3 went into paper towel. Next grow I'm definitely investing in a heat mat and dome WITH thermostat. My cheap model without therm had my dome up to 36°C the other night. Going to germinate right in rock wool after a soak next grow.

April 4th - Day 12 from seed
Everything looks good. Humidity is still an issue so keeping the dome on. Lady #1 looks nice and perky. Showing some possible nute burn on her tips. Hoping that was just from the low humidity before I put her dome on. Seed #3 popped late Sunday night and is now showing a nice 5mm tap root. Cube is soaking in res water prior to planting. Hopefully she climbs out of it soon so I can get her in the system as it's my safest and best environment just don't want her under the light just yet. Only maintenance needed was a few drops of ph down last night. Brought down from 6.3 to 5.8. Temp was up a bit so cracked an intake about 1/4 open and now holding at 27°C. So far so good.
