Im looking into buying glass online but I dont exactly feel comfortable spending $400 on a bong and have it not show up in one piece or not show up at all. Anyone know who offers insurance?
Who is a reputable company to buy expensive glass from?

As far as reputable companies, check out this page. I used to use it to find some good online shops, they all are reputable and sell some nice and expensive pieces.

And as far as insurance, I'd be no help to you. I've never bought a piece online that was so expensive that I wanted to insure it, but send an email or give a call to the company you choose and I'm sure they can give you the most information of what's available.

If you're looking to spend $400 for a piece and want quality, in my opinion, absolutely skip Grasscity and Everyonedoesit. I've bought from both of them multiple times over the years and had nothing but trouble. Their customer services are both lacking, had problems with customs with GC a few times, and MOST of the glass on both sites is Chinese. The American glass they have is usually over priced. Also the shipping times are HORRENDOUS for both of the sites. If you're a fan of headaches :cuss::wall:, buy from them. I'm sure some of you guys have had great experiences from EDI and GC, but I'm telling my honest opinion and please take it for what you will. Quite honestly I'd say if you want to throw down that much money and are worried about it getting to you, maybe just check out your local headshops? Saves you from spending money on shipping, tax, and insurance.

Also, just wanted to say, I can't take a website that sells beer bongs, metal bongs, ceramic bongs, and sweatshop made Chinese crap seriously. Maybe you can, and that's perfectly fine because it's your money. :eyesmoke:

(Oh and my post wasn't directed towards you BeastGrow, your EHLE is German made and not some piece of Chinese crap. I like EHLEs :-).)

I recently bought a pretty nice piece on Etsy from a blower and I had the option to insure it. That shit is like eBay without a pot bias

if I buy a piece online I prefer to get it from a freelance glassblower. they're more willing to make sure you're sorted out

and a blower's product will be more consistent than a company's, so their reputation actually buys some peace of mind.

when I bought on etsy from a freelance blower the responses to my questions were immediate and loaded with genuine concern for my satisfaction... probably because they put time and effort in to the piece. She even had a little story behind its creation

etsy has a bunch of chinese knockoff shit on it too. check out regretsy, shes militant against etsy because of that. its funny.

I only buy Roor. The blowers all blow hippie glass. I like scientific.

none of that answered your question sorry ;)
