Who you gonna call? Myth busters!

BZZZT! Wrong! If your building soils from scratch with EWC and/or Cow, or any manure for that matter. What is one of the components your adding, one of the main reasons for using it? If you didn't use one or both of these things and build from raw components. You won't have shit for available living bio's......you're soil would fail to grow well, at all!

Living bio's, in the form of bacteria and fungus.....BTW "mycos" are fungus's and their are lots and lots of strains...

I also do some simple bio AACT applications in veg and bloom.

Now those prepackaged - dip your roots, or sprinkle on one's are basically useless in organic runs!

You're mistaken on several points here too. In dealing with COB LED's

HPS is inferior to COB spectral balance and production. It creates a longer bloom by not supplying more deeper blues that help proper finishing. I find HPS spectral delivery as lacking Nm banding that you get better trich production, potency and a more positive finish from. CMH too, and I'm about to test some duel arc bulbs that have 600w of HPS and 400w of MH. to see if that helps the "not enough blues" HPS, finish cleaner, faster!

In any artificial lighting for growing. If you supply multiple points of light in say 1 foot of separation from the others. You deliver less shading and better overlap/overall penetration for your intensity delivered. Less of the plant's outer branching turning in to the center - giving a more natural plant shape.....

Lastly, if the light draws less watts in use. No matter what your Kwatt hrs cost is.....You pay less for the same Kwatt hrs used in total!
I appreciate the reply, its all good either way just wanted to throw one up.

You are off in so many ways.

1) I grow "fat ass dank buds", both under HPS and LED.

2) 3 watt diodes is the older tech I was referring to.

3) What is "rubbish" about current COB claims? I used to run a pair of 600 watt lights in a 4x8. It would get hot during summer months, and canopy distance(a low ceiling garage woudn't allow me to run a Gorilla tent with extensions) was often a problem. I've since replaced both lights with 900 watts of Cobs - a mixture of Citizens and 3590s. The tent produces the same weight it did before, the buds are just as fat, it's consuming 300 watts less, temperatures are far less of an issue, I've further reduced wattage by decreasing the intake/exhaust fan settings, and canopy distance is no longer an issue. I also no longer have to buy a pair of Hortilux bulbs every 12 to 18 months.

4) LEDs are cheaper to run, because you can run the same space with less wattage. An 800 watt COB setup will match a 1000 watt HPS in terms of performance.

5) I never said HPS is dead. I still run 2 of them. I'm going to phase them out over the next year or two though.
Im cool with whatever people think just popping up the case against. Lets not get bothered about leds, been there and made a tshirt, lets get back to more myths... :-)

You just got high didn't you haha. Yes this is myth busters we need science. Maybe if each of you gets high and sleep under a cob and a HPS and see who gets the most sunburn will determine the winner haha

How about the myth that seeded marijuana is less potent than non seeded marijuana.
If you remove the seeds it's just as potent in my experience.
Bingo that.....@RM3
Riddle says his seeded is better then his non seeded. He grows the non seeded for everyone else and grows a few seeded plants for himself.....
I'll be checking that here in a few weeks as I have a cpl of breeding projects I can test....I do believe it too!

Not checked for years but the old info was that seedpods had a layer of trichs on both sides when unseeded sensi and just one layer on one side when seeded. This meant unseeded was stronger as more trichs and trich density...

This could very well be a myth in itself now but it use to pass as scientific evidence years ago.

Am i right? :-)

I would have to look - You got me on that one..

I do know that there are like 8 different cannabinoids found in seeded that unseeded does not have. It's said by those that prefer the seeded. That it makes it more intense and lasts longer....I am speaking on full spectrum and UVB grown plants - seeded and unseeded....

Sadly, even if it's true and can be proven.....You won't be seeing seeded cannabis on any shelves or setting sales records either.

It's kinda like the fact that if properly harvested in steps. The smaller buds are stronger and measurably more potent.....Not many really know that. Even less believe it.....I think U-Ben said something about that in his "Lower buds don't need light to grow big" thread. He got ridiculed to death for that statement. Thing is, it's true!

I read in a book, years ago, about a study that was done, that claimed the trichs on the seed pod had a higher level of THC than their non-seeded sisters.
I will search, but i cannot guarantee, I'll be able to find a reference to it.

Im not sure there is much variation in trichs potency overall, years ago unseeded was meant to be stronger but merely due to more trichs not stronger trichs.

A lot of this is grey area stuff for me, dosent come up much and my brain is like a sieve for the past info. Good to get some grounding again.

See, thats what im talking about. Very amateur trolling. Im guessing your new to the internet?

Be even worse if your American as Americans cannot spell Gaol or Colour so changed the English language to suit themselves. Hell, they cannot even get how the date works and do it month first, couldnt measure a Gallon so made that up to....weird stuff.
To hell with all this led vs Hid bullshit. My single end HPS cranks out quality nugs in the pounds, but I won't deny the ledoids their claims, because I haven't tried them.
Once I have, then I'll have an educated opinion.
BTW, don't hate on Americans by the way we spell words. We obviously didn't want to appear like Pommy twats when spelling words like tire, center, color, flavor, etc.:bigjoint:

I've accidentally froze my roots and only noticed that my plants died from lack of live roots. There was no purpleing or increased resin production.

Ahh, see but not all of us Americans fall into that pond. If I'm not mistaken Americans were king of the world for like 60 years, between 1919-1980, but compared to England's 200 years it's not much. Anyways we gave the world its first nuclear bomb and we supply quite a bit of guns too... Oh wait I was trying to spin that in a positive light for ole 'Merica but sadly the mass majority has given up on intelligence and critical thinking in favor for football and beer.

Myth ....tin foil causes hot spots and will burn your plants.

this one is just laughable, we can agree that tin foil is not a great reflector (flat white paint or mylar are much better at reflecting light) but there's no way the tin foil can amplify or focus the reflected light to a point it burns your plants
One of the best reflectors is hammer toned aluminum. It doesn't cause hot spots.
