Why decarboxylate Your weed before cooking with it?
Because it truly does make it more potent and helps the extraction process.
Decarboxylating cannabis converts THCA into THC. [ THCA does not get You high, THC does ]
Decarboxylating also helps makes the THC trichomes [crystals] more brittle
and makes it a whole lot easier for the trichomes to fall off the plant matter.
Decarboxylation temperature is 220*F ~ 240*F
How long ???? .... 115 minutes in air tight mason jar
After cooled, put decarboxylated weed into freezer for 15-30 minutes
Do Not further grind up weed after decarboxylation or You will lose THC content / potency
Your decarboxylated weed is now ready to be put into coconut oil or butter !!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The cannabis to butter/oil ratio depends on how potent Your product is.
For a potent product: 1 lb oil/butter ~ 1/2 oz of plant matter
1 lb of oil / butter = 16 oz or 2 cups
for every 14 grams [ 1/2 ounce ] of bud, shake, or trim.
or
1/2 lb or oil / butter = 8 oz or 1 cup
for every 7 grams [ 1/4 ounce ] of bud, shake, or trim.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Melt the coconut oil or butter and put in a crock pot for 190*F
Use water to layer the oil / butter to make it easier to get out once solid / cooled.
The said temperature to infuse is 190*F in a crockpot with a lid.
The longer You leave Your cannabis in the oil / butter , the more potent.
Go around 12 hours just to be sure.
Once 12 hours is up, strain the oil / butter with cheese cloth
then put in fridge to cool. it will layer out like above image ^
Your product is just about finished, now to cook with it and enjoy !!!
love + light everyone!!!!
Blessings to You all. (((( <3 ))))
