Why North Korea is more afraid of us then we are of them

It's a terrible mess we're in with North Korea. It's such an overpopulated and politically sensitive region, to be throwing nukes around in.
Seems inevitable to me, that war is on the horizon.
I wish it wasn't so.

We've already laid waste to their country from the air once- and we did it without nuclear weapons.

Small wonder they're willing to eat maggots in order to build a nuclear deterrent force.

Maybe we should stop threatening them with destruction by fire. They already believe us.

Em...is this even in question?

I seriously doubt it. I think the situation is a useful foil to make the flag-happy boobs who support Trump have that chest-swell that bullies feel when they abuse people smaller or weaker than them. But I do not think that Trump would survive a war with Korea. I don't think those in charge of the nuclear missiles would fire them if he ordered them. If he did order them I feel pretty confident that somebody would find a straight jacket in the West Wing and he would soon find himself in a rubber room at Walter Reed.

I also think Trump knows this and that the risk of an actual shooting war is much lower than most perceive it to be. This is a con. A con for stupid people (his supporters). There is a deep state. It is made up of public servants (both Republicans and Democrat as well as those Questioning) who actually care about this country and Trump has not replaced near enough of them to get away with something this dumb.

Beating North Korea is not the point. It would not be a contest. No more than an adult beating up a retarded ten year old even if that ten year old has a knife. It's the ten year old's billion or so big brothers you need to worry about.

If they don't pull the trigger they go in a hole for the rest of their natural life unfortunately.

I try to ignore it generally, especially when the person who wrote it has an obviously diminished intellectual capacity.

He's coming around slowly, he just needs to get his information from sources that don't tell you how to think.

Because if he viewed the data he gets from an unbiased standpoint he'd see why we're all so hard on him.

Saying things like "Democrats aren't progressive enough to win the South" though?

Come on...

Fuck’s not fuck, ?
Good question. I suppose it should be the possessive present participle of the word fuck.

I stand corrected. I will note that in the next utter misuse of the words then, and than.

But than again, maybe I won't. Because fuck has forsaken us all.

see4 what I did there?

Edit: I just looked it up. "For fuck's sake" and "for fuck sake" are both correct. According to Oxford Dictionary Reference. See also, "for fuck's sakes" or just simply, "fuck's sake!"

Could be cultural, we tend to say Fuck’s sake in the uk but always tend not to confuse then and than unless you’re on disability living allowance for a low iq

Not to those of us who are informed, no.

It turns out there are plenty of people who are believing the mass media's drumbeat of 'be afraid!', however.

Make no mistake; WE are the belligerent ones; hundreds of aircraft including B-1 bombers flying laps past the DMZ. A naval presence that makes Fleet Week look weak off both coasts. Tens of thousands of American, Korean and even other nation's troops doing extended maneuvers along the border.

We don't have to do any of it. We could call off the multi billion dollar exercise in a show of good faith- a sign that we're willing to negotiate.

Sec State Tillerson has offered to open talks, 'about anything, even the weather'. It's pretty disingenuous to say that with all the hardware we're throwing around the place.

There aren't a lot of good options left and Chump's diplomacy is reducing even that number;
  1. We back down and look weak
  2. We ask the Chinese to intervene and look ineffectual
  3. We start a war and kill at least hundreds of thousands for no good reason
  4. ...? That's really kinda it. We can't force them to talk and we've given them zero incentive to.
I'm not defending North Korea's choice to break the Non Proliferation Treaty. The reality is that they clearly feel that their backs are against the wall and they have no choice. This is precisely what makes the situation so dangerous.

Kim Jong Un and his regime knows they're hated by almost every nation on Earth and they have seen the other 50 odd examples of what happens when America doesn't like a government. America has given itself the 'right' to fuck with other governments and we've done it whether the target was oppressive or not, democratically elected or not. Frankly, there is no international law that grants America or any other nation the right to manipulate the internal affairs of other nations- save the prerogative of force. In other words, no matter how it's been spun for domestic consumption, America does not occupy any moral high ground, nevermind credibility.

Kim may well keep lobbing missiles. He's smart enough to know that if one lands on foreign soil or hurts anyone, he risks annihilation. We can be sure that for all his bluster, he won't start a fight. Unfortunately, the Chump and his band of idiots think the potential costs are acceptable.

So who's the dangerous one, really?

Yeah, saw that after it was too late to fix the title.

I know the difference. My auto-correct software isn't terribly bright.
