Why would my light burn out ???

a few days ago i bought a new 100 watt cfl light. i have been using it over my plant, along with a little 26 watt one. i have the 100w screwed into a reflector sheild. ( thos dome lighting clamp things). last night the light was on. when i checked the plant today, the 100w light was just randomly out!!! ( the bulb made that jiggly spring sound when i shook it).

i have no idea why a cfl would burn out in like 6 days or less. arent they sopposed to last like 7 years or something.

i've never seen a burnt out one. usaully they go brown.

it didnt go brown, it just straight up stopped working. the reflector sheild still has power running to it....so it is deff. the bulb.

hmm, i thought cfls used gas, spring sound may be coming from the ballast?

could have been drop in the store.
