Wife is pregnant will I have issues

Hey all my wife is pregnant and I just want to know if anybody has had issues with their doctor when they pull blood from the mother?

We both smoke, but I've heard the nurse/dr can report you to child services if they find mj in your blood. True? Thanks for the help.

50/50 depends on the doctor some say stopping would stress the baby so they advise cutting back even with things like heroine over flat out stopping but yes 100% drug screen as part of the blood work

Congratulations on the little bundle on the way!

Yeah it depends on the hospital. I know for a fact that Kaiser does screen throughout the pregnancy.

they do a drug test when youre pregnant. depends on state laws and hospital.
does she plan on stopping smoking/

i dont want this to come off "wrong" but , most drugs, or anything that affects your system hasnt been tested enough during pregnancy to prove that it is safe during pregnancy. (and one study done in the 90s from jamaica isnt enough for me )
mostly everything you consume tells you to consult your doctor should be pregnant or breastfeeding.

anything you consume affects your child, whether that be sugar intake or taking a tylenol.

You should consider speaking with your OB for better answers but as a women who is pregnant, i wont take anything or put anything into my system that could even the slightest chance harm my child.

Sunni gave you excellent advice already but I just wanted to add that I worked briefly in a NICU and in my state, labs are drawn on mom and baby and any illicit drug use is reported. Pregnancy is a short amount of time to take a break. It'll go by fast.

Yeah they contact child services they set up two appointments and just tried to surprise visit us but we where never at that place so they closed the case and fucked off. Meanwhile you can take Methadone your entire pregnancy and they don't give a fuck.

Best for your woman to just not smoke way back it was cool but 5 years ago they where fucking with people for weed. You can do it but you best study child services social workers lose their jobs if they don't take enough children so learn them fucking laws!!

!
yea they do give a fuck. but you have the ability to just not smoke pot during pregnancy , its not hard.
where as if youre an opiate addict and you're pregnant, you need to slowly wean yourself off those drugs so you dont kill your unborn child in the process. unfortunately some people get pregnant when they are addicts. those children suffer a lot but child services does indeed give a shit.

you're comparing apples and oranges here probably because you have a personal vendetta with said issue and im not saying youre not wrong for feeling the way you do, but you have to look at it a bit more logically.

and child social workers sure dont loose their jobs over not taking enough children it isnt a quota job.

whatever issues you had with them i wish you the best, mad respect for you bro. but youre a little off here on this post imho

They actually will lose their jobs not for just not taking kids though but not getting kids in the system which makes it easier to take children.

And my daughter they tested her blood no consent my wife only smoked a little cause it helped her appetite next time she ain't smoking she don't even smoke weed anymore anyway. But they do take children over weed all the time even some veteran they took his kids for smoking for PTSD and that one woman looking at like 20 years for using hash oil for MS I think it was and she ain't getting her kid back.

But I do play it safe everything is under lock and key so they could only arrest me for growing my wife knows nothing she didn't build the house:bigjoint:Plus I make good money legally so everything looks legit.

But I do know 3 junkies all in the methadone clinic all methadone babies and social services does nothing but empower them welfare, foodstamps, free housing.

They ain't gonna be able to take my kid though I know too much about them and I don't do much illegal anymore. :bigjoint:

States laws are written in accordance with the UCC every state has ratified and which you will find in the wording on all state statutes which are in-fact statutes not laws. The doctor has an oath to help you and presentation may be key. If the man smokes for what ever the mother may have levels in her system though her lungs will be healthier likely then a smokers. If there was a concern with insurance or the doctor I perhaps would recommend the man could take a drug test to show he is not on anything other then cannabis to ease the nerves of the doctor for how you will present your issue. The UCC 1-103.6 states that statutory jurisdiction must be construed in harmony with common law reserving rights and remedy there of. Basically a statute is not enforceable with out loss of health or property which the state has not endured to force contract such as a drug test on a person regardless of origins. I would double check with insurance though as if you were looking to buy and not currently have if that is the case as you may have agreed to abide to a certain code of conduct when contracting with them which could be enforceable if accepted through various means. The system is set up where individuals will do what they can get away with instead of what is productive. Ill save you the legal education unless you wish to know more though it is pretty bad. I would say you believe in the origins of this country and have no issues doing things if it is productive though in this case the test is stressful knowing the child may be brought up in a world with orders and not reason. There are a number of angles though ultimately they can not force you to do anything you do not wish if nothing was hurt. The insurance company would be violating numerous international laws if not and could be leined for far more then they would cover should they wish to violate your rights. Im not sure your looking for a complex approach though it would be a lasting way to fix the system from where I am sitting.
Stay away from coke and pepsi or any preservatives and the hospital drugs at birth. Only 6% of kids born today have a microbe we evolved with. Keep your pH up.

Wow thanks for all the replies. I think she'll just quickly wean off it and I'll smoke in the garage from now on. Probably not worth the risks over whatever benifits. Thanks again for the info.

Interesting, here in Australia my sons mother used weed up until 26 weeks to combat morning sickness ( 4-6 times a day spewing, went for a car ride, better take some plastic bags!) We never had a drug test, interesting.

I see you posted this in California patients. We are in California as well and had our son 9 months ago at kaiser. Mrs.2112 went to kaiser her entire pregnancy and never was drug tested. It was when our son was born that they made us collect urine from him to drug test before we could leave. We are both patients and have gotten our recommendations from our family physician at kaiser. So when baby 2112 tested positive for THC the told us we need to talk to a social worker and have a doctor examine baby 2112 to see if the cannabis had affected him negatively. We showed that social worker our recommendations (which were on file already at kaiser) once she saw it was one of their doctors that signed it she left us alone. The doctor examined the baby and said nothing was wrong and we could leave. Ever since then everyone comments on how happy, agreeable and intelligent our boy is. Mrs 2112 used heavily the entire pregnancy as her medical condition requires her to and it was the only thing that got her through the pregnancy.

Congratulations on your new child  Hoping everything goes smoothly for you and your loved ones

Not for nothing a good friends mother was a major stoner. I don't know if she smoked during pregnancy or not though her son was top in our school for math and physics. He mostly had already taught himself much subject material and far more by the time it was being brought up in school. I remember 8th grade summer he was bored so learned calculus. Any how as long as its grown with microbes, in my opinion, it may not be that bad though most of the cannabis on the market unfortunately is very much subpar.
