Will adding essential oils to hydro during the final flush affect the flavor of the buds?

For example, if I added orange extract to the res during the final flush, would the buds taste citrus-y at all?

If essential oils wouldn't work, what about e-juice flavorings?

I can't see them harming the plant in any way, unless they cause the plant to dehydrate or are toxic to it, but in either case, the plant's going to be killed (harvested) in a short time anyways...

Has anybody tried this with noticeable results?

I can't imagine what you could add that would truly enhance great weed. IMO you would just ruin it. If you could extract some natural terpenes, (limonene for example), I suppose you could make the weed smell and possibly taste more lemony, but I find it completely unnecessary. What strain are you growing?

The way you make your pot taste better is to grow proper genetics, use proper grow techs, dry and cure properly. If you are doing these 3 things you wouldnt have to ask this silly question.

wont work. you can change/alter colors of some plant parts with similar antics though.

you also cold spray your patchouli oils on your own stash if you want, directly on them buds, inhale deeply.
but dont do any of this on others' weed man, its just cruel and dumb.

terpene profiles can be manipulated with specialized composting/growing of course but thats a far cry from e-juice flavorings

Thanks for the reply!

I'm not selling this to anyone - this is for personal use. Specifically, I was thinking about adding orange extract to see if I could increase the citrus flavor, but it seems the best way to do that is to treat the bud after it's been harvested.

I would never sell experimental or modified bud to anyone, not even my friends. I'm glad we didn't all jump to conclusions on that...

A friend of mine adds e-liquid flavor to his bud before he vapes it and it tastes incredible. I was just wondering if I could achieve a similar (albeit subtler) effect without post-processing the bud.

Taste is relative. I know people who love the effects of cannabis but hate the taste of even the sweetest bud. Adding artificial flavors isn't a bad thing unless it uses toxic ingredients.

Do you know a strain that tastes like a berry martini? How about one that tastes like gummy bears?

I know what good natural bud tastes like - I'm interested in experimenting with artificial flavors, for personal use.

BOG has a strain called Bubblegum and there are plenty of others like Blue berry by DJ Short. be careful smoking artificial flavors because you don't know what goes on chemically when it's smoked.

Concentrated terpenes. Used to flavor concentrates, food, etc. Idk how, or if, it could be applied to bud.

There's other companies, some with different terpene profiles.

Listen to Dr. Who. Use your nutrient profile to enhance the terpenes your looking for. Pick strains that are known to have terpene profiles your looking for. If the strain you're growing doesn't have a strong d-limonene production, or any of the other "citrus" terpenes it'll never have a strong citrus taste.

Many essential oils are suspended/mixed/whatever with PG and/or VG. Ive not burned the two calories needed to run a search on the effects of putting it on plant matter for smoking, but just doesn't sound right to me.

Taking decent genetics, investing the time (and maybe $) in growing them well, only to spray them with chemicals sounds counterintuitive to me. But as the old saying goes, to each his own.

I know this post is old but I have a quick question? Instead of me adding terpenes doing the final stage can I just stretch out the 1ml bottle during the middle of the flowering stage on out to 3 weeks b4 harvest? If so how many drops for do I use in feed water with 3gal pot?

While I wouldn't add anything to mess with my pot there are ways. Here is a link to a flavored rolling paper. As for those who don't like the taste, get them some distillate, the flavor is basically stripped from that product.
