If I were to put a home made carbon scrubber in my closet with a 4 inch fan blowing in it would it get rid of the smell? I have no way of venting the closet.

you need a scrubber, a/c, and co2. other wise there wont be any availible co2 to the plants once they have replaced it with oxygen. and heat build up would be uncontrolable. the cheapiest way is to cut a whole in the ceiling, patch it before you move. thats what i did

Im only talking about one plant here, I have been growing it in the closet for 2 months now with no problem but the odor. I let the closet air out each night while I sleep. My house is a rental so cutting holes in the ceiling is not an option.

Will this work to get rid of the odor?

personally I prefer to stay away from ONA.. its a very known odor principally used for only one purpose.

As I said earlier... try it.. no way to know without having the cube of your area.. the cube of your scrubber, the type of carbon, the cfm of your fan along with at least the strain you are growing.
