Will my plants be harmed if I change the light spectrum they are getting during veg or flower?

Hello RIU

For the record, I am working on my first run ever.

Situation: I have some plants that sprouted about 5 weeks ago and am currently using a light fixture that I am borrowing from a buddy. Using 700 watts when on, this light fixture is a bit high on wattage for my liking---I would like to switch to a COB build if it won't kill my plants..

Here is a picture of the light I'm using at the moment:

If it won't harm the plants too much, I want to replace this fixture with a 12 COB (already in my possession) setup. The COBs are the new Gen 7, Vero 29's at 3000K spectrum.

Below is a picture I took this morning of the garden. I do acknowledge the nutrient burn and the stress from the powerful light. They're currently on 18/6 although I am thinking of moving them to 16/8 until their appearance improves.

Question: Should I use the light I am currently using for the rest of the run? Or should I finish my light fixtures asap and switch to 3000K COBs?

Use the cobs... Seems to me that they are little plants assuming they sprouted 5 weeks ago....If they were grow from cobs since start...in 5 weeks..you would have much bigger plants;)

Thanks! I'm on it!! I'll try to get it done in the next few days.

@nachooo Right!--I used an 18" T5 on them for their first month of life. Lol--I got excited when the beans arrived and I germ'd right away.... perhaps a bit too soon!
