Will this COB fixture be enough to do a good job?

Will (10) Vero 13 BXRC-40E2000-C-73-SE (34Vf, 4000K), and an Excelsys LXD150-0450SW (150W, 450mA) to drive them, make a decent veg light for a 2x4 tent? I know that Watts are not the best unit of measurement for COBs , but is 150W enough to veg 8 sq/ft?

I am a total newb to growing and DIY lighting, any guidance is greatly appreciated!

Thats only 15w a cob, you'd probably do better running 5 at 30w..i dont know what type of output you'd get at 15w a cob. I would just get an meanwell hlg240-1050b.

don't listen to this guy, he just gave you terrible advice for bridgelux 13's,
and he told you to use wayyyyyy too much power over a 2x4. 30w a COB
will burn vero 13s up, and 250w over 8 sq ft is a pretty high flowering intensity.

150w over 8 sq ft will absolutely kill it in veg, plants will grow very quickly
and stocky.

It'll do fine so long as you build it lengthwise and not square and bunched up like a lot of folks do.

Think of it this way: A twin 40 watt 48" long fluorescent with good grow bulbs would actually veg quite well in a tent that size, so your COB's at that rating should do quite well indeed.

Thank you all for your input. I already have all of the components and didn't want to buy a new driver if I could avoid it. looks like I am going to be doing some fabrication this weekend!

I veg'ed my first grow (2 Death Star clones currently in the first week of flower) for 30 days under 350W of Vero 29 3500K. You can see from my profile picture the they are short dense bushes, will my new light encourage a little more stretch between nodes?

I wouldn't look for a quantum leap as you're still at the lower end of the power scale, but I would think you'll see some improvement. Another thing to consider is that many strains are actually engineered to be shorter for indoor growing, so don't think EVERYTHING has to be tall and lanky. It's not always a good thing. (In fact, most times it's not.)
