Worried and Confused...

Hello people! First off I would like to say hello and state that I am excited to be a part of this community now, going to try to learn all I can and contribute as much as possible as well! :)

I do have a quick question I'm trying to get cleared up, maybe I'm paranoid but I've seen several other plants that have had the life span mine currently has and they are a lot more lush and bigger than mine, therefore I want to find out if something is indeed wrong with my babies..

I potted this plant right after germination(obviously) on July 18th, July 20th it sprouted and began it's growing cycle, I had it on 24 hour light for quite a few days, I would say until it was about an inch or so tall. I then started reading more and realizing that 18/6 lighting supposedly forms a more concrete rooting system for you plants, or atleast develops longer roots.. I think I read that article here actually somewhere.. Anyways onto the main topic.

Like I said, I changed the lighting schedule and they seemed to not be effected at all by the change, I then moved them to a more remote location (my storm cellar) environment is relatively the same aside from a higher humidity range (closet was about 30-40% RH, Storm cellar is about 70-80%) I realize that the humidity jump was a drastic change for the plants and makes me believe that could have put stress on them but I'm not exactly sure.. I water them every other day which seems to be keeping them green and what looks to be healthy.. Onto my setup

I'm currently running 2 lights, a 400W MH and a 250W HPS.. The plants sit about 9-10 inches below the light, my cooling is extremely nice therefore I believe I could actually raise them up a little without the risk of burning them..

What I mainly don't understand is why I'm seeing plants that are around the same age as mine to be almost twice if not triple the size of mine? Could it be strain related? Are my plants stressed from all the changes?

Here's a pic:

Any advice would be extremely appreciate, Thanks a lot..

July 20th? 11 days ago?

I don't see a problem bro! Ya just gotta find some patience..that's all. This process takes time. Yer 3+ months away from smokeable buds so don't freak YET!

And hey..between you and me..18/6 robs you of 42 hours of growth per week...(roughly 2 days). The plant doesn't know any difference betwen 24/0 and 18/6 except it grows faster.......

good luck

So your recommending 24/7 lighting? I thought I read somewhere letting the plant rest actually helps the production of it and there was a thread around here talking about root sizes and stuff..

As far as smoking it goes, I can wait I dont really have a problem with that because I need to pass a drug test here soon anyways it's just I've seen so many pictures around here of peoples plants that are about the same age as mine and they are so much bigger.. Maybe I'm just delusional or maybe different strains grow faster than others?

Shrug

Thanks for the information too! :)

do 24/7, you won't see any negative effects, and your internode spacing will be less. I.E you'll have bushier plants.

Alright well I have another quick question since your online! ^_^

When would be a good time to start fertilizing my babies? I've been told around the 3rd or 4th week after they sprout? I'm using Miracle Grow Potting Mix which is like 21-7-14 and It seems like it's pretty dang healthy as is, Been real hesitant about feeding it any fertilizer, would hate to ruin something that seems to be going well..

thanks again guys!

In the third week I would start off by using a 1/4 mix of what you have, although I've found that miracle grow liquid houseplant food is a little bit less intense(8-7-6) and it has the right amounts of NPK.
