i have an aquarium probably 15gal, i wrapped mylar around it and shove in the 18w florescent which is tilting because of size issues...i had few luck doing cloning, but wanted to improve. so i had 2 set-up for my clone. 1st plant i used a bottle from herbs for cooking that was emptied filled it with water and hydro corn (stones) after dipping the stem i plugged it inside the bottle. and the other one was using a small pot that i placed inside another cup that was filled in with water so the soil would always be wet. so i want to ask if this would work...thanks im already doing it anyways and see if anyone has tried it or at least the same concept. thanks. +rep to anyone who helped...

It might work if you used a different container that doesn't have transparent sides and if you PH your water and change the water every day it may root in like ....forever 7-12 days. And yes this is a well known method of cloning; this is how the plant naturally clones itself in nature. It's very VERY SLOW! are you at least using cloning solution? Rooting hormones? Ph'd water?

I don't exactly know what you're saying since your grammar is shit, but if you are just going to stick the clipping in some water then plant the clipping it in a wet pot of dirt your success results will be very very LOW! close to a miracle.

I would also recommended you get some better lights one 35w 6500k CFL(100w equivalent)(the twisty looking kind) would be better than that dim 5200k T5 bar lamp regardless of what lumens it may claim to produce.

of course i am using root hormones on my cuttings, i have tried different methods and the result varies depending on the strain most of them dies and few of em survives...so what is it that you really suggest? my success in cloning will be very very low in what? plugging it in wet soil? or dipping it in water? can you elaborate that seems like your advising me to get a container that is not transparent which is that the cutting are soaked in water next to it your telling me that its natures way of cloning?

keep clonning simple. use rockwool, clonning gel, humidity dome. and low lighting. im pretty sure just sticking a cutting in water wont make it root...the water needs to be aerated.

I have been cloning that way for years! If it works for you, than it works for you! I clone all my girls in a cup of water on my window seal. just add water every couple of days
