Hi all. Coming up on my first harvest and starting to plan out building some sort of box for my bud to dry in... but like any good grower, security and odour controll is top of the list.
So far im thinkin a cardboard box roughly 2 ft x 2 ft. At the bottom of one end, a pc fan blowing in. At the opposite end up top, another 2 pc fans attached together sucking air out. These two pc fans would be attached to a spare carbon filter i have which would be sitting outside the box. One of the pc fans is more powerfull than your standard pc fan, it has 3 speeds.
When this fan alone is attached to the filter and i put my hand on the side of the filter i can feel a little bit of air coming out, its quite cool on my hand.
So im guessing 2 pc fans would blow a decent bit of air into the filter.
I wouldnt attempt to use this sort of setup for flowering but im hoping that it would do the job to dry a bit of my harvested weed, maybe like a half oz to an oz at a time. I only have a small grow of two plants and one is almost done and plan on harvesting soon, but just the main colas and leaving the sidebranching to fatten up a bit.
Basically i wont be drying a huge yield with this box, so hopefully the smell wont be too strong. But then, i know how smelly a quarter bag of decent weed can be lol.
But does this sound like it may work ? Ive been told in theory it could work, but thats just in theory. And id just like to get a few different opinions on it. Cant hurt.
Or should i quit while im ahead and think of sumthin else ?
I dont have alot of space to play with, and connecting my drybox to my tent to let my flowering cab filter deal with the smell wont be possible as the tent is already packed tightly into a corner of my cupboard. Im not really one for cutting corners but dont have any money really to buy decent bits n bobs.
