Here I have Buckin Runtz and Ruby Grand by Exotic Genetix.. 9 weeks 5 days since I flipped (October 4th).. I think of harvesting like baking cookies, always want to take them out a few minutes early because they finish while cooling down outside the oven.. just want some input on what you would do with the pictures given?

That looks great. Commercial strains I run till they fatten up and quit taking water. My personal smoke which has been slymer ( Chernobyl cut) I let go for a couple weeks longer and she just starts dripping with sour resin. It’s so much better ripe and never seems to dry out. But everyone who tries my head stash gets paranoid and anxious

Yea I admit went the thc to degrade too too much so I’m thinking of harvesting today or might just wait like 2 days in the 10 week mark so the other plant can catch up just a little bit more

If you stagger your harvest every couple weeks the newly cut plants help keep my dry room moist and slows things down. In summer I have to lose moisture though but winter harvests are f’n awesome!

So for 11 years I've used the fdd2blk method of determining readiness with some different stuff from time to time. From what I can tell your amber is mostly on the leaves (which tend to amber first). I have harvested where your ladies are at many times and in my experience the potency isn't affected but I can say that plants I let go a few days to a week past the point you are will most likely develop more intense terpenes. I have also come to see the complexity and longevity of the high is increased as well.

I agree. The plant will go from looking like it was sprinkled with sugar to looking like it was dipped in oil.

Then you may want to give them more time. Not that chopping now would be bad, but if you want greasy hoes give them a little more lube time.
Leaf thrichomes always ripen before the ones on the buds so i wouldnt use them when determining ripeness i always wait till i see a fair amount of ambers in the buds unless its one of those ones that dont go amber cos some stuff dont i agree proper ripe beats early bud in taste/effects but from experience theres a certain point when you go too far it looses a bit of flavour why they say its a harvest window cos once you miss that it can be a bit blander i like my stuff proper ready but there is a point of deminishing returns for sure i find .So for 11 years I've used the fdd2blk method of determining readiness with some different stuff from time to time. Oh yeah, definitely a point where you can go too far. I broke my loupe years ago. I've noticed they will go from looking greasy to almost like a dry glue. If you see this you've gone too far.
