Wrinkled top of plant.. why???

`drip system
`250 watt Mh (9-13 inches away from tops of plants)
`ppm about 550 (using botanicare nutes)
`PH is usually @ about 6.1 (but i just changed out the water resivoir a few days ago and now trying to keep ph at 5.8 to see if it makes a difference)
-temp stays between 22 - 24C
` Timer waters them 3 times a day for 5 minutes 4GPH dripping on each plant (2 2gph dippers on each plant)

hey everyone.... first things first... something is tottaly messed up with my camera and i cant take any pics ... i have had this problem with my plant for about a week now....

after proccess of elimination i have 3 God Bud (indica) plants that are about 5-6 weeks into veg that i am waiting to pick a mother from. i would say the top 1/3 of 1 plant leaves started to i guess you could call it wrinkle. Branches are holding up really well and the plant looks really healthy (growing nice and a nice deep color green) with no signs of nute burn, there isnt even any nute burn on any leaves nor are the leaves drying out at all. Just the leave are starting to wrinkle really bad and the edges are starting to hang down on the top half of this plant. I cant figure it out. Its like the plant is healthy but it is just trying to tell me that something isnt right in my system.

I've encountered the same thing. A lot of of my leaves have started canoeing/curling/knuckling.... Mine are like yours as well; a deep green color. Of course thigns are going well for me; the plants looking great except the folding. I just wish I knew what was causing it; it makes the leaves look really ugly. In my photo, you should be able to observe the new leaves curling, yet i've had enormous fan leaves just shrivel up and don't turn yellow nor fall off... just shriveling...

What is your heat situation? Does your room get above 85 or 90 degrees? How is the ph? You could have nute lock. Try flushing them with clean, ph balanced water for a couple of days. Also, what is your water temperture? If water gets over something like 75 degrees it can't hold oxygen. Are your roots white or brown? If they are brown, then your water temp is probably too high.

Hey bro; thanks for responding to our situation, My room has gotten over 90 degrees a few times, but I believe that was a long time ago, and now I have a water chiller keeping my temps below 72 degrees at all times. Air temp has remained approximately 65-70 night time and 75-80 max daytime. I had a PH problem some time ago when using non-quality nutrients, but has been corrected. My roots aren't completely white, and have some light brown looking tint to them, but a lot of my roots have SOLID white where they sit in the nutrient stream flowing at the bottom of the root chamber.

Will the canoeing/knuckling/folding of fan leaves be corrected, or are they damaged leaves that won't recover?

I wouldn't worry about it too much. It sounds like the ph problem you had caused a nute lock. What happens is the ph being off makes it so that certain nutes can't be absorbed. Unfortunately, symptoms of a ph problem usually take about 2 weeks or so to manifest. I would try the clean water flush for about 7 to 10 days, then go back to nutes. Also, you may get a fish aquarium air pump. put an air hose into each plant's bucket and the resevoir with air stones on the end. This will add tons of oxygen to the water and should whiten up your roots. Are you using CO2? If not, you should.

The temperature at the canopy might be different than the overall room temperature remember heat rises and if your thermometer isn't at the same level as the top of your canopy its in the wrong place. also what is the humidity?

There is plenty of info in FAQ and the Plant Problems thread. I had the same problem and through these threads I found that excessive heat, moisture, and ph fluctuation can cause these symptoms.

the heat is causing your wrinkle issue humidity could be causing both when its to humid a plant cant transpire so the cells become filled with moisture causing the leaves to curl.

Alrighty then; thank you for your valid responses everyone. I believe mine is probably a humidity diagnosis because my humidity was pretty high about a month ago when I flipped to 12/12; but I got a de-humidifier in there keeping it 40 during daytime, and 50% at night time max. So I think my problem has been solved for a few weeks because budsites are getting fatter, the affected leaves are just damaged and probably won't repair or correct themselves. +ReP for all who have responded. Thanks for the responses guys......thanks for the responses... IT HAS TO BE THE WATER TEMP.... my water heater somehow got set to 79 degrees... turned it down, will see what happenens

btw ... my humidity hasnt been above 42%
