i moved them into bigger pots about 2 weeks ago and they were starting to look like they were getting healthy again but today i find that mostly the bottom leaves are starting to curl up and die and they look even more shocked now than when i transplanted them. the top parts of the plant look healthy but some leaves in the middle are starting to curl at the ends and have dark spots on them. also im wondering how big of a factor it is when the temp is only 45F.

any help would be great :)

what you must do then is insolate insolat insolate, then buy a cheap electric heater from walmart that has like a temp setting. put it on the lowest you can without hurting the plants so u dont get raped on electricity, so then have this heater on during the non light hours. during the light hours i assume u have a grow light, which will keep it warm for u. now if you are growing these outside with sunlight then you are doing it completly wrong and they will die if you dont move them.

another thing that will help is have the lights on at night and the heater on during the day which will be the non light time. that way your heater wont have to work as hard during the non light hours

My attic was always mad cold in the winter.

But if your mom says no plants in the house, then listen to her. She's being nice enough to let you grow at all, don't make her mad.

I agree..

My attic is always cold in the winter, but still much warmer than outside, but by no means 65-75F. I'm definitely not growing anything up there anytime soon.

I also agree that it's not a great idea to take the plants into your house if you're living with your parents. I like the fact that you were ambitious enough to try to grow outside and not disrespect the people who put a roof over your head.

But, like everyone else said, if you cant control the temp, I'd quit wasting my time. Unless you have extra time on your hands, then I can take some off you.

I don't know about the shriveled and spotted part, but you should probably get some lights for the indoor grow.

Let me save you some time, dg. It is awesome that your mom is letting you grow it indoors.....but it will not work out this time of year unless you are willing to invest at least a few hundred dollars in nutes, lights, mediums etc...

You should prob scrap this for the time being and wait till spring. The chances of your plant living inside without lights are slim to none, and the chances of it living outside this time of year anywhere cold is even slimmer. If she is cool with this now you can prob just throw some seeds in a pot and keep them in a window till the VERY end of winter. When it gets nice out and no frost then plant them outside and let them do their thing. It will take about 6 months and the product will be typical street quality if not worse....but it is fun watching your plant grow. I did the same when I was a kid. My mom always said she "hated that thing" but a few years ago she told me "that thing got huge and it was awesome", she was just being a good mom when I was younger.

Anyway man...that’s my 2 cents.

what you describe sounds like spider mites. if you can get some pyrethrum spray and spray the plants daily it will help. then you know it was bugs. i usually mix kelp in too, they like that. i lost several plants from spider mites before i figured it out. especially being outside. i've never gotten rid of them, but i am able to keep them under control. good luck!
