xDrifts CFL White Rhino project

Greetings lads & lasses

Introducing the grow guide for my newest project. I've grown outoors back home in New Zealand and White Rhino was the first strain I grew and she has a special place in my heart. I can't grow outdoor here so decided to make an indoor project that's low cost, discreet and produces nice smoke for personal use. I love growing too but a little fresh indoors.

So currently running a 125w CFL 6400k for veg and a 2700k for flower. I may need to add some more light for flower considering the short range of the CFL but we see how it goes. I'll keep topping the plant and make a SCROG and I'll stop vegging once I have enough heads.

Have gone with Green House Seeds feminized White Rhino seeds. I'll just grow one for now and make clones from my cuttings when I top her.

Grow box in a converted kitchen cabinet, 80x60x60cm dimensions. Has white interior, 2 airholes at top to help remove hot air and I can modify to suit my needs for filtration.

I'm raising her in peat for the first stages of her life then peat inside a peat cup... Maybe 400ml. Then will plant in to a bigger pot using the fertilized Plagron Royalmix... Sounded fancy when looking for so I'll give it a wash and see how we go. Add a little bat guano and epsom salt, mango skins on top of the soil and plant a couple garlic to try keep pests away. Hopefully I can find some worm juice as my fert and keep her organic.

Once the seedlings roots are outgrowing the peat pallet I'll transfer to the peat cup, would I have any benefit adding some perlite? I love the way roots grow in peat so I want a clean head start before reaching the fertilized soil.

I have a little light leakage to deal with but I'll fix it over the weekend.

Tschüss

Had a little mishap, the first seedling didn't shed it's shell for some reason so had to start again. Number 2 has popped out today and ready to take on the world.

Filled the pot with Plagron royal mix, flushed with water then mixed in some bat guano. Hopefully this goes alright.

Given the smaller size of the cabinet and currently no airflow it gets a little warm, even with opening up the top rear of cabinet. I'll order 2 pc fans, for inlet and exhaust and hopefully will work in removing the heat.

Go easy on nutrients at this stage, you can probably raise the light a little off of the top of the baby. The baby will not need any food for some days but go very light on food as they can be easy to burn up at this stage, good on you for giving it a go

Not much to report, changed the big cfl for a 23w CFL at 6400k, temps are much nicer now. Seedling starting to take off.

Second seedling shed it's shell and stayed the same size and ended up dying o_O bit frustrating but 3rd time lucky :) it looks like we're off.

Is this a single plant your playing with first off??

also you gonna need at least 4 cfl bulbs at 2700k to flower

in a veg state that you have i would also pick up some more of those 6400K bulbs too

the idea is run 4 and 4, use the first 4 for veg, then when your ready to flip turn on the other for extra lighting

Ok so another 2 weeks have passed, going on a month old now. The 23w cfl just didn't seem to give much growth so I swapped back to the 125w, temps were hitting 35 degrees so drilled some air vents in the reflector and installed my fans which have temps sitting at a sweet 25. It's a cold dry winter so the humidity is los. I'm unsure what to do at this stage.

She's small but looking ok, maybe a bit of a light green tinge. I'm hoping with the bigger light we see some better growth. I wish I could find some worm tea here for a sweet N boost.

My girl is loving the new setup, much quicker growth and putting on a bit of size.

Also buried some cut up mango and banana skins in the soil. It's nice to see some progress
