Yielding 1 Kilo Of 100 Solo Cups

Ok. This may sound stupid but lets go. :P:P:P So a general rule about wattage and plant is to have around 100 watt for each plant and If you are good enough you could get 1g/W and even more of that.
Lets say that I want to make a grow in a 1x1 meter tent and plant there 100 plants in solo cups ( 500 ml ).
I've seen some great grows on solo cups with yields more than an ounce.
Lets say that I want to have in there a solo 600watt hps.
Plants will fill the place really nice although they will remain somewhat small.
All plants will receive a good amount of light.
If I am able to yield 10g of a solo cup, theoretically If I plant 100 plants in a solo cup, yielding 1 kilo would be easy right?
Even with a 400 watt hps all plants would get the same amount of light and to my mind it is possible to yield 1 kilo of a 400 watt hps with 100 plants in solo cups.
Am I missing something?

Well Im in my first grow.
I just dont quite understand the wattage per gram thing that's why I made this topic.
What you are seeing on autoflower.net are people who know a shit ton about growing overcoming a challenge. Finish your first grow, harvest, dry, cure and weigh it. Then you will know.

You have to be able to catch problems early, correct them before they effect your yield. Further running HPS I doubt you'll get 1 g/watt. That's what people shoot for. I don't bother to weigh my crop. I simply don't care but I think last time I looked I was around .75gram/watt

Here's the table I'm avoiding chopping by fucking around on RIU. I don't think I have 1g/watt (1000 HPS) and I'm a solid intermediate grower. So my advice is just grow. Worry about harvest when you know what you're doing. There's a lot to learn to just complete a grow before worrying about maximizing a harvest.

Not heard the 100w per plant rule of thumb before, we tend to think of watts per square foot of space. Its also better to thing of grams per square foot.

A 600w will cover a greater area than a 400w or have a higher ppfd over the same area.

Look up Sea Of Green. But forget solo cups and think rockwool cubes in an NFT system

Id happily come help chop that, looks amazing!

but i also agree. What youre seeing in those solo cup grows are people that have put a lot of time and effort into maximizing that little cup. Its more as a hobby or fun thing to do on the side just to see what you can do with your skill set and an extremely limited space.
The idea you are talking about is pretty much along the lines of the "sea of green" method, but the cups are too limiting to do on a large scale if youre at all concerned with yield.
Ive actually recently been playing around with trying my first solo cups just to see what I can do with them with what ive learned over the last 2 years and multiple grows.

LOL thanks!

Well I killed 4 of them so far. We'll see who all I slaughter tomorrow! By the end of the grow I hate them LOL just like teenagers and parents.

I've grown SOG in 1 gallon pots in coco/perlite. I veg in pint pots and thats pretty limiting but I don't want huge plants. I have way to much weed.

^^^ this, always get the most light you can. I recommend 1000W that you can dim. More light is always the wisest way to go.
