Hey so at the first early stages of this plants life it had to be layed down sideways in order for it to get light so it would't die till i could put it outside the next. (Decided to sprout right when the sun went down) Now the stem from searching for light in two different directions is squigly and bent and now that the plant is a little bigger it seems like its having a hard time holding its self up on the flimsy un centered stem.

I'm thinking i'm just gunna add more soild to the cup to add stability for the plant but can i do that with the stem all bent like this ??? Any advice on what to do please help !!!! Newbie first time outdoor grow .. Early misty strain.

Heres some pics of the plant

at this point they just need more light. thats y theyre leanin, theyre goin towards the light source. as far as more stability, soil would work, just dont choke off the little leaves at the top.

try putting a cfl over it and put a fan barely blowing on it,you just want to make her move not blow away lol

also try making a cast with a cut straw and put it on the stem...or just put a stick on the soil and tie it her to it

a great way to give stability is when planting in the ground put the soil up to the first leaf this and the stem will automatically start producin roots making it nice and stable. Also it looks as if you are over watering your plants .....you can tell due to the redness in the stem

I don't really have the option of doing any lighting inside. Anything i do would all have to be outdoors. I'm gunne try the straw thing though. That sounds like it should help straighten her out. I just wasnt sure if she was too young right now to do any tying down stuff or not. Do you think it would be possible to add more soil to the cup and press the soil lightly around the stem so that it is being straigtened inside the soil and has much more stability with a much shorter stem. Im think of filling the cup till about one inch below the leafs.?

Adding soild and correcting the stem bend by bending it back wont hurt the young little guy will it ??

Ahh so thats what the redding on the stem is from . I had a feeling i was over watering them. Some of the seedlings i have the stems are like fucking turning dark ass purple. Should they still be fine and healthy if i just stop watering for a while till the soil drys out.?

the stem will grow.. it wont dwarf the plant in the slightest. bendin the stem back should be fine though be gentle. adding more soil one inch from the first leaf is fine just remember heaps of sun and no nutes just yet will be perfect conditions...another thing you might wanna do is get a bigger pot ...this WILL dwarf your babies because the roots have no where to go

i ve never heard of redding of a stem from over watering although you should let the soil dry out in between waterings roots like a oxygen just as much as water and yeah next time you should use 1 pot per plant

i usually get a spray bottle and spray until its moist and that seems to be fine for a few days...the main reason of seedlings dying is due to overwatering.
if the soil is moist rather than wet then thats fine...water every three days or so...cos its outdoors you can get away with not watering it for a while cos of dew in the morning. your soil shouldnt be too dry either cos thats when you plant will wilt.

in summary keep a close eye and make sure your soil is moist which it should be for a few days at a time

o yeah i forgot to add. There is only one plant in that cup now . I moved the smaller plan to another cup. And i plan on transplanting the plants from the SOLO cups to 2 gallon pots once the root system is better established and i have a sturdy healthy plant to move. Then i'm gunna start feeding with alaskan fish emulsion 5-1-1. Its been pretty nice out and sunny for the past week so they have been getting direct sunlight all day in my outdoor location. Very flat with little shade and optimal sunlight.

Thanks for the input guys !!! Really helped. This is my first grow ever and i'm hoping i will have some quality buds to smoke come september :)

I have eight early misty and five Mazar-I-Shariff. At the seedling stage. The one with the bent stem is the farthest along and growing the fastest. Started the plants in Miracle Grow organic cause that all i had at the time. Then i aquired some Fox Farms Happy frog soil so when i put them in bigger pots they will be in that soil and should like it much much more than the MG shit soil.

Thanks for helpin me out man !!!!

I think i'm gunna buy a good camera and start a journal soon so you guys can check em out and maybe help me out along the way.

First grows are so nervracking !!! I'm pretty confident that i know what i'm doing though. Outdoor grows are pretty simple. I got the perfect grow spot too. An old plant nursury that was shut down years ago. Open land for acres and acres that no one would ever bother trying to walk though.

Keep your eyes peeled for Outdoor Misty 2009 Grow !!!!!!!!!!!!
