Your advice please: Newbie grower

I am new at growing pot. I had some seeds so I decided to plant some. I started them off as seedling in a small pot then I transplanted them into latger pots. I have 4 plants from 2 - 2 1/2 feet tall (SEE PICS). This has been an experiment for me...trial and error. I really don't know what I am doing so I ASK FOR YOUR HELP.

I am in Southern California...

What are my next steps? Should I leave them in the current pots or move to larger pots?

Can you tell me what type of pot this is?

What type of fertilizer should I be using? Can I get something at my local garden center? (be specific, not scientific...I'm a newbie remember)

It is not September 9th and they are not flowering...what I should I do?

How soon will it be before I can have something I can smoke?

Where can I get some quality seed for my next grow?

THANKS SO MUCH EVERYONE!

Go to the Newbie Central forum https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/ and read the sticky about How to Grow Marijuana. That's the best place to start, and just keep reading. Ask your questions in that forum because you're more likely to get a response.

At this point in the season you probably should not transplant. But with a slightly undersized pot in SoCal, just make sure it doesn't dry out. I can't see the nodes in your pictures, but it looks like if it's not already flowering, it's about to start. You can use any kind of general purpose fertilizer, but the N-P-K (numbers on the box) should be weighted toward the P value, 15-30-15 for example. But take it easy with the fertilizer and use no more than half what the manufacturer recommends. Your plant is some sort of sativa.

That should get you started. Read as much as you can, and you'll find you may not need to ask any more questions. Good luck buddy, your plant has a good start.

seeing as your plants look mostly sativa there going to take longer to flower then most of the indicas the rest wagontail already coverd

You've got at least 2 more months... most strains need 8-9 weeks to fully flower.... then another 2-3 weeks to have something to smoke

8-9 weeks is for indicas, not sativas like the pics above. Sativas can take 12 weeks plus to flower

Thanks so much Wagontail.

You said "At this point in the season you probably should not transplant. But with a slightly undersized pot in SoCal, just make sure it doesn't dry out."

So you think my plants will be alright and continue to grow ok in the current pots? Will putting them into shade help the flowering process?

How do you suggest I apply the fertilizer?

What do you mean by sativa? I don't understand. Please excuse my ignorance.

They'll be fine in the current pots. Give them as much sun as you can, but don't let them dry out...a 2" layer of mulch on the top will help retain water. A November finish should be fine where you live, and they're small enough where you can always bring them inside if frost becomes an issue. They'll flower when they're ready, but they've almost certainly begun flowering.
Apply fertilizer using the manufacturer's recommendations, but use half-strength until you are able to recognize over-fertilization. You can use any general-purpose, or any general bloom fertilizer.
This article https://www.rollitup.org/newbie-central/937-how-grow-marijuana.html in the Newbie Central forum is a good place to start. Read through that and you'll feel 10X smarter than you do now!
