this is a good example of how corrupt the agency is. obviously she knows these drugs are worse than marijuana, she just didnt want to in anyway be seen as endorsing marijuana law reform, and she was obviously not prepared for jared's questioning. i dont beleive for a second that the head of the DEA knows nothing about drugs. but i do definitely beleive that she wants to keep her job and continue to promote the status quo.

look at her face at the end after she finally said "we will look at any options for reducing drug addiction". at 4:50-4:52 that is the look of defeat. hopefully we will be seeing that look on the face of prohibitionists more often.

nope not affirmitive action, political corruption. she is a vigilant, relentless agent, who did "great work" fighting MMJ under bush. he made her deputy administrator in 2004, and nominated her to take over the seat of administrator. which she did under the Obama administration after approval from the administration and senate.

this is from her wikipedia
"Leonhart has consistently turned down research into the therapeutic and medicinal benefits of marijuana, and has a track record of undermining state law with regard to legal medical marijuana. Recently[SUP][when?][/SUP] several pro-legalisation agencies have called on President Obama to withdraw his support of Leonhart, including SSDP, MPP, NORML, LEAP, and DPA. [SUP][9][/SUP][SUP][10][/SUP]
In 2011, the Washington Post reported that "994 people younger than 18 were killed in drug-related violence between late 2006 and late 2010" and that "n 2009, the last year for which there is data, 1,180 children were killed, half in shootings."[SUP][11][/SUP] In response to these statistics, Leonhart declared that while it "may seem contradictory, the unfortunate level of violence is a sign of success in the fight against drugs.”[SUP][11][/SUP]
In 2012, Leonhart testified before Congress and refused to acknowledge whether methamphetamine, heroin, or crack-cocaine are more harmful than marijuana"

this administration was never going to be "cannabis freindly". for starters Joe Biden is one of the biggest anti-drug zealots to walk the white house floor. he was one of the guys spearheading the anti-drug movement in the 1980's and was a big part of getting mandatory minimums in place, he Co-Wrote the RAVE act, he was also chairman of the Senate Caucus on International Narcotics Control, during which time he used his authority to write the laws that established the National Office of Drug Control Policy, among other things.

Also. Look at the kind of BS our government is spewing abroad. this is a quote from a leaked US diplomatic cable off of wikileaks, this was in Sweden.

"in response to a question, Director Kerlikowske reflected on the current status of marijuana for medical use in the U.S. and noted that the legalization of marijuana for medical use has not been unproblematic and has had unexpected side effects, such as erosion of the quality of life in neighborhoods. The Director and Minister Larsson agreed that legalization of drugs and the creation of open areas for drug use or injection rooms (as in Olso or Vancouver) are not the answer to reducing drug use and can create more problems than they solve. Minister Larsson noted disagreements among her Nordic counterparts about support for such initiatives and
stated that it is Swedish policy to avoid creating pockets of drug use."

During their exchange, Director Kerlikowske noted the President's national drug control strategy would be released in February 2010 and that the Administration was seeking to address the problem of drug control from both a public health and public safety approach. He also confirmed legalization of marijuana held no place in the new strategy, and remarked that the USG looked forward to collaborating with Sweden to reduce drug use, including at the CND in March 2010. As Minister Larsson had just returned from a meeting on steroid abuse, there was also a brief discussion on the dangers and prevalence of steroid abuse. At the close of the meeting, Director Kerlikowske mentioned his serious concerns about prescription drug abuse and the Obama Administration's renewed emphasis on drug abuse prevention."

Yea lets spend billions a year in fight against medical marijuana, something that actually helps people!! instead of on other shit like cartel control in states.. or immigration.. Like fact Obama broke the law himself trying stop deportations just so he can get more votes...? anyone else see anything severly wrong with that? What they need to do is go after all the corporate pharma. companies that make all those pills with billions in profit every year and cause more problems then what there used for in first place. Seriously look at all side effects just for one of those pills its like grocery store list! And the fact that the government/ senators and whoever else that makes gains from investing in those companies those are ones we should be going after. but they wont ever go after them cause its a multi-trillion dollar business no one cares what side effects are especially when its the people running this country thats putting there money into those companies for more profit.

So lets waste are money on marijauna prohibition, something that is proven to help with little to no side effects right? Are government is severely messed up and they dont care about the people anymore its all about there political figure and there own personal agenda's and money...
