Your wet bud and a box of RICE

Hello again! Yesterday i was walking around my pool checking the garden i drop my cell phone into the pool of water and fucks all the electronics. so i throw it into a box of rice. the rice soaked up all the moisture in the cell phone and it starts working again.

Now what would happen if someone put a nice nug in a box of rice. would it cut down the hanging time of curing? or in anyway benefit or speed up the drying/curing process?

Good idea. I think there are lots of ways of faster drying but slower is better; I use the steam dry microwave version, takes about 3 mins to dry your nugs.

I think slower drying is better in the long run because you won't be destroying THC and the chlorophyll will have had more time to break down.

There are those little disk things they sell that you put in places that get musty too. They draw the moisture out of the air.

I know that they put rice in salt shakers to collect moisture when they are outside in high humidity, i'm gonna throw a few grains in my jars when harvest time comes around

You don't want to dessicate the weed though, the idea is to dry the excess moisture out of the bud and then spread the remaining moisture out evenly thoughout the vegetable material right? If you dessicate it you are taking all the moisture out pronto and then you'd have really dry uncured weed?

myself im gonna take a 8th nug and bury it in a box of rice and check it daily. and compare with what has been working for the last few years.

has anyone ever heard anything like this before?

good point thanks for bringing it up! . . . thats possible i guess. i am going to have to use 2 nugs and make one bone dry and keep one moist. by putting one nug in the rice for less time?. thanks

yea but i don't think a few grains of rice are going to "dessicate" the nug, sure it will remove moisture but not like it would if you throw it into a box of rice

yea true. i want to go to the extreems and bare minimums to fully test this out.

think of it as those little silica gel packets you find in all sorts of packaging to keep things dry, i may take a tea bag fill it up with some rice, restaple it, and throw it in one of my smaller jars during the curing process, see how that goes, the rest i'm just going to burp

hey guys, i just read a thread on the same thing. seems people want to try it out but i cant find anyone with a true answer. well one kid said he does it one nug at a time but he also said he smokes out of banana leaves. im not knockin it or anything but i like to focus on taste and flavour. so fuck it, im trying it. i just put a quarter ounce of bubba right off the plant into a pickle jar filled with rice. (i got all the pickle smell out of this jar over a year ago so dont trip on that lol) feel free to drop me a comment to see how it turns out. stay green
