i am almost positive this is what i am experiencing.(zinc deff) my plants have that iconic banded / striped look to the middle aged leaves and the newer growth is a lime green color.

i thought it was a mag def gave em a blast of cal mag about 4 days a go ( im in soil by the way) but the more i read on zinc deff i think thats what it is. Any suggestions how to get some zinc in there would be appreciated. I gave em some trace elements by earth juice there microblast so i hope that will clear it up but am open to suggstions as idk if its gonna do it or not.

First off you supply no pics.....Cannot see,,cannot say.

But,,, I can say this....a micro nute def in soil is VERY rare!
I would say that it is NOT the problem!

What soil, nutrients, amounts of, supplements/additives do you use?

my soil is a combo of compost and soil form my parents dairy farm the compast is of alfalfa , corn stalks , ears and hay the soils is from a place where we have burried cows for years there are no bodies there just bones and dirt now.

I use the humboldt natrual line and feed that with an aerated tea but i just felt like it was zinc bc of the way these leafs looked banded but i ended up taking down the plant BC it was show in male preflowers but now that I look at the leafs in a diff light it does not look as banded as it did in the tent but i guess it dont matter since i culled itIMG_20140523_182126_1.jpg IMG_20140523_182135_1.jpg IMG_20140523_182126_1.jpg

Looks more like a nitrogen deficiency to me!
it may b at this point i really dont know bc the "banded" or striped" look was really noticable under my t5 set up but when i took the plant out it looked prolly not 1/2 as bad i thought that the hps were really the only light that made it hard to judge colors but i think thats a reason it looked so mouch like zinc deff to me but looking at them under sun light i would be more inclined to lean the way of nitro def as well which i gave em a microblast from earth juice and some verde from humboldt (really high nitro supp) so hoefully i have taken care of it
