you can vote by mail (absentee) without showing ID, voter ID won't require voters to have ID, your personal anecdotes reign supreme over scientific polling, i can somehow vote in alabama without an ID and without anyone to vouch for me, that you have a minimal level of intelligence, that you are not trying to disenfranchise voters, that voter fraud is a serious concern, etcetera etcetera etcetera.
