Sealed Room De-humidification - Any Thoughts On This Unit?

LOOKING FOR OPINIONS ON THIS IDEA:

Looking at The EVA Dry EDV 4000 https://www.eva-dry.com/dehumidifiers/edv-4000-rotary-desiccant-dehumidifier/

4 plants in flower room, 8 in veg room. CO2 addition planned. I could duct this to the other side of the wall, so it's in-line. 14 pints a day.

There's no compressor, less electricity, less heat (but enough that I might duct into the next room)

There is an auto-restart after a power failure. This means that I could have a remote humidistat control the power to this whether in the room or if I do some simple ducting outside the room.

The heat isn't supposed to be much, so I may try it in the room and see

Yes you will need a dehu, drill a hole in the front of the water catch with a step bit and run half inch tubing off of it with a screw together male hydro fitting coming out. Then run the tubeing into a drain, through a wall, or right back into your rez if your not scared of overflow. Or run it into the rez and have an overflow going into the drain.

I just checked the home depot model. 70 pts a day and 7.5 amps. Yours will be set on full all the time so itll be at 5.15 (probably 6)amps and clearing 14 pts a day. Ill check the 30 pt unit for amps.

The ge 30 pt from home depot is 200 bucks and it runs at 3.8 amps. Probably 4.5. But regardless, its less amps, more water gone, and cheaper and faster to get than waiting for that thing in the mail.

Condenser de-humes also hotter and noisier, and I've had a few of those over the years. I don't recall them lasting long.

I like the lack of freon-like refrigerants in these desiccant units, also.

I'm hoping I can run this on low with 4 plants in soil. 8 plants in veg. The 4 flowering and 4 of the vegging plants will be in 25 gallon fabric Geopots, so soil evaporation as well as plant transpiration is in effect.

I'm inclined to give this a test drive. If so, I'll definitely post thoughts / measurements.

I would like to know how this would negatively affect cannabis plants grown in organic soil. I run a rez because I utilize blumats and I've never had any issues in the summer when I use dehuey water.

The water that comes off my central air AC coil and dehumid coil is 40ppm. Wondering where that ppm comes from...

This unit is expensive for how much It puts out. You can find brand new ones on craigslist 70 pints for 150 or so bucks
