Ive been growing way before medical so it was an easy transition for me to just get patients and my card. But ive upgraded considerably in ac dehumidifiers and lamps since then. Ive spent easy 20, 000$ probably 40,000$ on it all over the last 8 years. And alot before that. Nutes. soils. coco. pots. tents. bullshit hydro sytems. Wood. Saws. panda film. nails. screwguns. caulk. Electricians. Seeds. Clones. Gadgets. Better lights. Mini splits. Oh shit...ive spent some coin.

Problem is I keep feeling the need to expand. I just have a small wardrobe grow, but I'm already thinking of that 600W hps and that grow tent I'm going to buy in a few months. I've probably spent about $400 on my little op, but mostly due to poor planning. Although I hate bleeding money for the grows all the time, when I think about the fact that it's my hobby and I enjoy every moment of it AND I haven't spent that much, I don't feel any guilt. :D
Good to see you bro

i guess we are lucky here in Oregon to be one of the early states to legalize, I know a few people already getting thier liscenses to grow, the Rec legal stores here that sale to Rec are also the stores who were already selling to the medical side of things, the oregon govt changed the rules to allow the sale of both from the same strores
Also lifted the 2 year residency rule too if I'm not mistaken.

sounds like a dream...the Mrs. and myself are movin out to Oregon in a couple months. Got any leads?
I love living here, hope you can handle the rain,, I transplanted from Calif, not sure I ever adjusted fully,, lol,, laid back here, i know wharehouse space is very hard to get , all of it got swooped up with legal growers who could get space within boundaries and inside of legal counties, things are just starting to take off, they are still putting rules in place,, the dust hasnt even settled yet,, but it is legal and there are legal stores, especially in portland, the whole eastern part of the state east of the mountain range is off limits to growers , and rec sales, just dumb politics, so chose your county and city carefully before you move

Hah, good to see you too Tim, how are things? When's the legel limit going to be over? :D
i plan on doing another grow in the fall my friend,, taking the whole spring and summer off, it does feel kinda nice, I am still sitting on my legal limit, good friends, and nice trades, but i am doing some work in the grow cab/ wardrobe, going to build a "sip" its kinda like an octopot, passive hydro / soil hybrid, other wise just some cleaning to do this summer, need to scrub that box down big time, make sure there are no critters or spores of any kinda,, lol,,,

Appreciate this info Tim Fox. Honestly I'm really just looking to get in anywhere I can once I get there. Most of the job openings I've seen are lookin for past experience, which I don't have legally..and
rains rain...can't complain. Got green grass? I'm cool with that.
Interesting bout the east of the maintains bit....and dumb politics seem to be the root of every social economic problem these days it seems
We're going to nest somewhere east of Portland for a year (assume our day jobs, speck out the lay of land, etc..) then hitch it up north or south or whereever we decide to end up

looks like im late to the party but oh well

haven't spent it yet but it'll be about 487 not including soil or seeds/clones

3x3x6 tent 98.82$
400w HID with MH/HPS bulbs 154.14$
cooling fan 240CFM 23$
nutes and PH control 71$ for very basic stuff
carbon filter with inline fan 440CFM 140$

Grand total 486.96$ not counting soil or seeds/clones getting those will probably push me towards 550

Appreciate the feedback, do dispensaries out there do working interviews?

I've seen hemp staff come through where I'm at a couple times. Still on the fence about paying 250 for dispensary training.

you want green,,, lol, you just wait,,, Lush and forests as far as you can see,, huge ass trees,
I am east of portland,,, definatly look me up when you get into town,
you can buy everything you need legally here,,, Clones, clones are like 10 to 15 dollars all day Seeds ( fem are like 8 bucks), hydroponic shops ( grow shops that sale everything needed to grow)
MJ jobs are hard to get still,, what few legal stores are already staffed,,, the big grow guys are paranoid still,, large fences barbed wire,, lol,, funny how even though its legal,, people still want to rip them off,,,
I know one of the rec stores legalized, and are paying bud tenders 15 to 18 per hour,, and paying trimmers up to 30 bucks an hour and more for master growers,
come and start networking, there are plenty of public MJ events now,, gatherings, there is an all womens canibis club thing here, where they help women get into the field of legal MJ work,, kinda cool

southern Oregon is having lots of legal battles, gosh the state wants to mess with the big medical growers down there,, I hope it all works out,,
I have alot of family that lives in central Oregon ,, in Bend ,,, it rains Less there than so Cal,,, lol,, I guess I should have pointed out that Oregon has differant climates depending on the region,, sorry I left that out,, I usually reserve that line for my old Calif friends,,,

Appreciate this info Tim! I'll talk with you again when we get into town. We are looking to get on our feet in Gresham, then wherever life takes us from there.
I check clist and other sources all the time for jobs, and yeah nothin really jumpin out. Seen quite a few sales jobs though, but not really my thing. Also kind of hard since I won't be there until we move, so fave to face interview are not an option for me.
Fuckin great prices for clones/seeds indeed. And the fact that I can just get in my car and pick them up makes it even better.
Looking forward to all of it either way! Thanks again

What a good thread. Some posts make me happy and other make me want to vomit.

I'm 1.5 months into my first grow and I'm over 10k invested. Like an idiot I'm on my third set of lights. Hps to cheap leds to expensive leds. Worst part is my room after all this is way to small. 6x12 next round I'm building a new one. Probably 10x12 cost with insulation and bs will only be around 1500.

I'm in a shed that's 20x24 so I can do a lot but I do want some space for my own crap.

Small little grow turned into a part time job.
