The authorities in Charlottesville said the violence that day was entirely due to the white supremacists. The governor, the mayor and the chief of police said this in separate occasions.

Thousands are showing up to protest Trump and his fascist ways. It's quite common for fascists to break up protests using paramilitary organizations such as these neo-Nazis and KKK or in an earlier day, members of a construction union that Nixon later praised. Antifa are there to defend.

When you equate Antifa with the fascists they defend the crowd from, how else can we take your statement other than you support fascism? The white supremacist's message is about hatred, lynchings and genocide. Police are notorious for just standing by when fascists beat peaceful demonstrators. In some cases Antifa are the only ones opposing them with force if necessary.

Even the extremely pacifist Buddhist recognizes the role of the defender. They call it "fierce compassion".
