Best strains for PTSD

First i'd like to say that PTSD is not limited to combat vets like myself. Many of us have it. The worst i've ever seen are people who have been sexually traumatized. Likewise people that grew up in stressful impoverished areas naturally have it unless they have good coping skills.

In your experience, what is the best strain for PTSD? I would assume it would be mostly Sativa based but I'm not sure. I mean something that just really melts that anger away. I was puffing a nice Purple Haze from Pacific seeds but only had a few oz. This new strain isn't really doing anything for me. I have also found that working out is a must... at least stretching and a walk. If you have any issues with Anger/PTSD or anxiety please let me know what strains you find helpful.

I haven't tried more than 100 of the named strains that are out there, so my recommendation may not be the very best strain for PTSD but one strain that really helped me a lot when I was able to get a batch from Cali a while back was, Jillybean, really helped to put me in a balanced happy place and would really take the edge off and had an antidepressant effect to it, I'd like to get my hands on some legit seeds of that strain soon if I'm able, I highly recommend it.

hope this helps, cheers.

O/ brother. Combat vet here ptsd & extreme social anxiety disorder. I personally have smoked countless strains. Very few do anything for long. Tahoe OG kicked my ptsd in the ass but unfortunately smoking doesn't help with the soc anxiety. Now if I decarb and them make wax and throw that on some food I could give a fuck wtf is going on around me and am able to relax in public. Now being pissed and angry nothing's going to fix that anymore brother, there's too many fucking idiots.

PTSD Vet here as well...

I have been researching and I have yet to smoke them personally but I'm looking to grow and try ...

Blue Dream and Trainwreck are the on my to buy list for me and my fiance' we both are PTSD Vets..

I know what works for me in this country place where they don't know a strand of hair from a Strain ...it's all GAS in TX..(on the streets anyway)

Back in NY on the streets it was broken down..and I know what calms my anxiety...I need a Sativa heavy with some energy but not too much..
also, some happiness that covers the scars...
I don't need anything to fall asleep on (unless that's what I'm looking for at the time) cause We all know the VA got us covered on that...

Hell, we sit in one spot ALL day long off one pill...and drool...

This is when I literally woke up and said I'm tired of this and I'm self-medicating. My doctor said he can't tell me NO cause he KNOWS it's better treatment.

But Goodluck

The guys who have tried it have posted and I believe my research was correct after seeing this...

Another PTSD vet,

The best I've found are high CBD strains... more of an old school "full spectrum" kind of smoke (I'm actually working to start a commercial op growing exclusively these)...

Some of the best:

Harlequin
Cream & Cheese
Blue Wade
Kosher Kush (some phenos; can range from 1:8 to 1:3 so varying ratio, I'm popping seeds and getting bud tested on my next run looking for a higher CBD pheno)

Cannatonic x *insert any normal strain here* will be the right recipe

CBD not only helps with pain/inflamation issues that most vets also have but it curbs anxiety/paranoia effects to some level and keeps you more clear headed. Harlequin based (high CBD sativa) for the daytime and heavy indica high sativa (cream & cheese) for later on.

A nice and tasty strain you might want to try is Ice Cream Cake, I've seen it become popular amongst a lot of other growers. It's not sleep inducing (for me). Another popular one that works well for anxiety and isn't too sleep inducing is Lemon Tree. See if you can find those.
