Great news!

"The manufacture, possession, and consumption of cannabis is decriminalized in Trinidad and Tobago. In December 2019, the government passed a bill in Parliament to decriminalize the cultivation and possession of small quantities of cannabis. The bill was proclaimed as law on 23 December 2019."

Can’t wait to see some grow logs from T&T!!

Upon looking I now see there was a thread, sorry. Don’t see an option to delete.

No worries my man, just let me know if you want anything in the main post, I think I can edit it for like 8 more hours or so :)

Trinidad & Tobago is now that much more 'woke', friends. We're on board - grow it, bu'n it, but (don't) doh sell it, yuh hear!

A few firsts abound, for me. First blog participation (is it even termed as such?), first foray into weed-tech, first grow approaching and my first friends on here. I'm chuffed; life is good. I am essentially enrolled in the informal University of Cannabis, spending inordinate stretches of time learning the basics. It will likely be that way for a few years, perhaps. Anyway, I'm fleet of mind, so me eh worried.

Most of the data available is pertinent to temperate climates; ours can be summarised as seen below:

Average relative humidity in Trinidad, Trinidad & Tobago Copyright © 2019 www.weather-and-climate.com

Average min and max temperatures in Trinidad, Trinidad & Tobago Copyright © 2019 www.weather-and-climate.com

Average monthly sunhours in Trinidad, Trinidad & Tobago Copyright © 2019 www.weather-and-climate.com

Average precipitation (rain/snow) in Trinidad, Trinidad & Tobago Copyright © 2019 www.weather-and-climate.com

Average rainy days (rain/snow) in Trinidad, Trinidad & Tobago Copyright © 2019 www.weather-and-climate.com

Average water temperatures in Trinidad, Trinidad & Tobago Copyright © 2019 www.weather-and-climate.com

Average weather facts:
  • On average, the temperatures are always high.
  • A lot of rain (rainy season - NO snow) falls in the month: June, July, August, September, October, November and December.
  • On average, the warmest month is November.
  • On average, the coolest month is March.
  • July is the wettest month.
  • March is the driest month.
The reason I furnished such detailed info is because I seek guidance for my planned grow. Below shows a crop rotation layout for twelve months, intended to service my personal needs.

Autoflowering plants are reportedly able to offer multiple harvests. This may make my Schedule flawed, rearing 6 plants 4 times a year. Have I chosen well? I'm using a 15' x 10' plot Outside, featuring 8 holes, using 6 of them, mostly. I'm yet to determine the specific layout; I've marked shadow lines from the house and fence all year long last year as the Sun travelled from Northern Hemisphere to Southern. I wanna make sure the plants are not deprived of energy by shadows.

Does anyone have knowledge of the specifics of this type of home grow? I figure I'm going to need lots of gear to facilitate the various life stages, but internalising the reams of data available then trying to adapt it to my environment may be a bit much in the short term.

Damn I’m jealous of that weather!

Do you have A/C and a dehumidifier for your set up?

It's beach weather, @Hust17 . I'm using a 15' x 10' plot Outside behind my home, featuring 8 holes. I'm yet to determine the specific layout. My grow light beats any Halogen, LED or whatsoever; here was made for de nat'ral mystic - Jah is de Boss! Your enthusiasm is palpable; your support, much appreciated. Consider a visit someday; you'll love it here.

that looks like a paradise to me. so it must have looked when they found the new world :)

I have to say that co stant 80% hum and brutal heat + sun very close at zenith could give some plants stress. the ruderalis gene part stems from plants adapted to the north... idk maybe to do a multistrain selection run to see what works n is interesting to keep?

Thank you for your contribution. Indeed, it presented itself just that way - as a World New to Columbus and his crew on the Niña, Pinta and Santa Maria. He was so lucky to be guided by 'The Others'... he probably had an elf or 'Grey' for a helmsman. He also was averse to acknowledging the people he met here - Caribs and Arawaks, predominantly. He took out large swathes of people to foreign microbial attack. Fortunately, we still have the barest minority of indigenous people still here in distant pockets.

Your contribution is valued. This meeting place is promising; I'll tag you on my thread dedicated to the topic so you may see my Crop Schedule.

This shows the names of the region's land masses a very many years back in time; Trinidad was known as Cairi:-

@Hust17 ... Girl, they give trophies here!!! I've been 'awarded' three of them; my Status has changed to Member without the 'New'. I still don't see extra controls. Soon I may ask for a Moronic "favour, though".

Upon research, I've learned so. I also now know that most genetics originated in climates similar to mine.

Many prefer the bounty on offer in my neck of the woods.
I think it's a good idea if you keep going with mostly-sativa strains because they're more likely to feel well in your climate (high luminosity, long summer, high temps/ humidity). The evolutionairy adaptation to a tropical climate made sativas to have less dense more airy buds, less broad leaves, and generally a more vigorous growth.

However, from a commercial point of view, these are not so heavy yielding than typical indica.

Then, sativa is more special since it has this typical mental high and sometiems people like that over indica. However, it would be good to let these sativas ripen out long to get more amber trichs so a mild soothing effect will accompany the headhigh.

I think your focus on selection should be to pick a strain that grows like a sativa but has a shortened flowering time, ie. it will build up its buds faster than that typical 12-14 week pure sativa.
