Great to see a grow come together so nicely!

I keep waffling about the addition I want to add to my room thinking I'll be out of here in a year but started planning it 3 years ago and still here. lol

Would be nothing like yours tho. Toss up a couple of walls with OSB on the outside and just clear poly on the inside of the 2x4 walls. Panda Film where needed in an 8x4 grow space. 6', 6" light rail with 2 600W HPS back to back to light up the whole space. Got everything but the OSB and only need 4 or 5 sheets. Might need a few 2x4s too but have everything else. Couple of days to slap it together and move some plants in once I sprout some more. :)

I'm all about function over form. lol

ive had the same thought what if i sell this building? then i had a clever idea what to with the grow room if i ever sell. i saw these cool kits you could buy where you cut a hole in the floor and it allows you put in a mini circular set of stairs if i sell im gona put one of those stairs in the kitchen and the grow room will be transformed into a really trendy wine cellar directly beneath the kitchen.

A well decked out grow room might be a better selling feature tho if such a thing is legal where you're at. That's why I bought this place tho it was a cold storage room in the basement when I first saw it. The day we moved in I was tearing out the shelving and moving plants in there from my place in town. Almost 20 years here and I still haven't painted out the horizontal stripes from where the shelves were. :D

and now for another update things are looking alot more finished i finally finished all the plastering and the painting i went with a flat white acrylic latex based paint for the walls i peeled all the plastic today and cleaned everything up you can now see the nice epoxy resin floor. just need to build some custom insulated doors and do all the trim then i can start hanging equipment and connecting my co2 generator to the natural gas line

Should have put my sunglasses on before opening that pic! ;)

Really strange that the whole pic doesn't show when I click on it. Just the centre half or so but the smaller one is pretty clear.

Are you planning to recycle the condensation water from the mini-split? Free distilled water.

You could rent a couple of hospital beds and sublet to Covid patients if they have good insurance. :)

Looks really good!

maby in the future the water at my place is pretty nice comes out of the tap around 7ph. for now all the dehumidifiers and ac will be ran to a sump pit that will pump to the waste water. i live in a odd house its a 4 level side split so there are two basements one basement is about 4 feet lower than the other it has a sump pit it just happens to be next to my growroom so i can gravity feed all the water out of the room :)

My sister has a place like yours in Chilliwack, BC. She just bought it a year ago for a half mil and is planning on selling and chipping in to buy a house with her daughter that has a in-law suite for her and my 93 yo mom to live in. Mom lives with her now and has for the last few years.

I have a sump right next to my grow room too. When I first moved in here almost 20 years ago I had problems with fungus gnats and found out the little f'ers were breeding in the sump so blocked it off with a panel that I put vents on with filters. Been good since. I've had a couple 20gal spills in there and it seeps under the panel into the sump then the floor dries up so I was looking for the missing water for a while before I figured out what happened. lol Smooth cement floor with that grey paint on it. Was built as a cold storage room by the first owner and a key selling point when I bought the place. 7.5 acres 10 miles from town so lots of privacy.

Our tap water here comes out of a dugout on my property and is around 400ppm @ pH 8+ so we've been buying RO water or using a distiller for potable water and to give the plants. I've bought all the stuff I need to set up my own 150gal/day RO system but just need to set it up. Extra filtration and UV sterilization was needed but should pay for itself in a few months. Should have done it ages ago.

I just got some seeds from a buddy back east and am sprouting some Nepalese Temple right now. Should be a great hash plant. Sent some Hindu Kush and a good CBD fem auto strain as well that I'll try for an outdoor grow this spring which starts around mid-June up here in northern Alberta.

nice! i wouldnt mind a place with more privacy. i looked at a house last year it was perfect it was sitting on two 40 acre lots, had a private road going to it and the house was approx 4500 sq.ft however here was the catch. the house needed a gas line brought in from the highway since it was still on electric heat and the place was trashed need an easy 200,000 grand worth of work befor you could move in unfortunatly the price didnt reflect the amount of repairs that were needed the place would prolly go for 350,000 if it was fixed i offered 200,000 they got insulted! ill find another eventually

The old guy i bought this place from had originally asked $185G for it then kept lowering the price over two years until the wife saw it in a local paper. I was working out of town at the time and came home that weekend for a couple days to check it out. We got it for 50G plus 12 more for all the contents like a full light industrial wood working shop fully equipped. Sold most of the big power tools but still find things I didn't know I owned. Things are beginning to break down so could use 20G or so to bring it up to snuff but didn't think I'd be here as long as we have.

There is bugger all for jobs around here so very little demand for housing so I'm not going to make much selling and everywhere else is so expensive. Middle of nowhere with nothing to do. Fishing sux so I'm hoping to end up either back in the Fraser Valley where most of my family are or out on Vancouver Island to fish away my golden years. I could just get a 5th wheel and an old pickup to keep me happy. Little 15' runabout would be nice so I can get out on the water.

and for another update things are moving along at a snails pace i hate cutting outside in -30 weather ahah. im not sure if anybody has been to the hardware store lately but the price of wood products has doubled im making some very cheap but effective insulated doors for my grow room and a couple removable panels for access to the furnace and hot water tank. each door has backer rod in the front around the outside of the frame and spray foamed all the way around each door instead of being directly on the floor is off the ground with a rubber gasket sealing all openings when the door is closed

I hear you about the price of lumber. $30/sheet for 3/8" plywood with the chipboard being $4 more here. I need 5 or 6 sheets, a couple 10' and maybe 10 8' 2x4s a for my project but in the last two months my furnace fan, gas fireplace fan and my damn aerator for the dugout all took a shit on me. The VISA card is taking a beating. :(

Your doors will work just as well and will make you smile every time you pass through one and think of the money you saved. :)

Warming up here from the -35 a couple days ago. Only -20 and sunny all day today. Still wouldn't want to be doing shit outside any more than I have to. Froze up my sewer line again so after having to borrow my neighbours pressure tank and tubing to run down the pipe and melt out the ice I got all the bits and pieces yesterday to make my own rig. The most expensive bit was $42 for 40' of 3/8" air brake line to feed hot water down the pipe. $16 for a 3/4" ball valve for the water inlet. I have a tank and all the other needed parts like compressor and fittings. Now that I'm ready to rock it'll probably never freeze up again. lol

Still have the RO system to put together yet too. Next week for sure!

Considering what my new grow space will look like I should hire you to come over and put it together for me.

I replaced my own electric water heater a few years back. I can't afford to pay the pros and to get furnace or plumbing work like that means calling in someone from the city an hour away usually so it's never cheap. Being a jack-of-all trades comes in handy around here.

Not a well here as there's no ground water. We supposedly have a mile of clay under us so we have a big dugout/borrow pit in the yard. 80x50m and 4m deep so lots of free water. Even when we lived in town the water tastes like crap so we got into buying RO water for drinking and the coffee maker etc. Sick of hauling jugs back and forth and at $3.50 each the RO unit will pay for itself in about 5 months I figure. Cost me over $500 for all the parts but needed extra filtration and a UV sterilizer unit with a calcite filter at the end to 'polish' the drinking portion and add back some minerals. I have a Polar Bear distiller that needs a good cleaning and a new heating element then I'll sell it to recoup the cost of the RO stuff. Was $3000 new but came with the house when I bought it almost 20 years ago. Today is 20 years since moving up here. 20 years of regret. lol

I'll have 3 outlets for the RO. One right after the RO filter for the grow room tank as it doesn't need to be sterilized so save wear and tear on the UV unit. Then one after the UV unit to use in the coffee maker so it doesn't get mineral buildup and plug up my nice new BUNN coffee maker. :) Tehn the last one after the calcite filter for drinking, cooking etc.

Configuration01.JPG

I got lucky with the furnace fan. A new motor alone is over $300 and I got a lightly used motor in the fan unit from our local gas co-op for $200 and it popped right in. 2 bolts and the ground wire to get the old one out. Just had to graft the plug from mine onto this one and away she went. Stuck the old one out in the carport for emergency backup and might see if I can just replace the bearings in it. This used one should outlive my time here so not too worried. Next to go will be the jet pump for the water system I bet. Whole system will need to be replaced when that happens. It's all 30 years old.

I've never run RDWC. Just single Rubbermaid tubs. Some with many plants in them and sometimes 3 at a time but all separate systems. Haven't done one for about 3 years now. Usually doing a few strains at a time and seems easier to use ProMix and pots for now.

I observed the Sabbath today and didn't do a lick of work.

I did water all the plants so off the hell I go. :D

pretty stoked got almost everything finished yesturday finally got my natural gas hooked up, connected the dehumidifiers to the sump pit. just gota sort out all the cables for my ballasts gota run them on the ceiling. i setup a little table with my old fluorescent tube lights for starting seedlings and i planted some purple kush seeds yesturday super excited it took me approx 9 months to find enough time in my busy schedule to build this little project

Holy crap! You could stick an operating table in there and start stealing kidneys for the black market. ;)

Seems an odd way to have the gas line situated where it can get snagged or something but I can't see the whole area there so hard to tell.

Hell of a nice job! Those babies should be happy there. I grew a Purple Kush a few grows back. No purple and nothing to write home about but yours is probably a different breeder's strain so could be the bomb.

Finally got my little ones repotted and into the 2x4x5'h tent I just bought used 2 weeks ago along with that little COB LED light that's on in the pic. 5 Nepali Temple in the white pots and 4 hi-CBD ones in the black pots. All are regular photo plants so will be making some seeds of both I hope. Still have 2 big ones in the grow room downstairs I need to set up and get flowering now that I have a decent place to veg.

yea i didnt take a full picture of the gas line setup for my gas guys privacy since his name is on the tag, but its quete slick he put a mount on the wall with a little valve and a stub that i just screw my regulator onto. i didnt have to silicone around anything i was surprised.

im pretty sure my purple kush will be purple i did some auto purple kush from budda in the summer they were almost black im now doing the non auto purple kush from the same breeder so i imagine ill get some black flowers again to bad i cant get the seeds anymore dam brexit i may hafta make some seeds again.

thats a sweet looking tent, did your friend build that cob light? i havent tried led yet but im thinking about it im a bit pissed about my lights i bought 4 ballasts last year set them up tested them all, used one to start all my outdoor stuff then it just sat the rest of the year i tried to fire up that same ballast yesturday it sparked, smoked, then tripped the breaker im now doing a warranty claim we’ll see how that goes lol
