About the border covid thing, I am done hearing that, Look at the cbp numbers and during 2020 and 2021 the amount of cannabis seized at the border skyrocketed.

because of covid truckers are not responsible for whats in the trailer if its sealed, since by precaution they do not enter the facility.

prices are down because the us is overproducing just like canada.
In cali the max sentence for growing is 6months, and people have been growing crazy amount in desert greenhouses.

just look at the bust in cali and oregon this year. It hasnt went up last spring because people were harvesting their light dep…
Up to COVID and into late 2020 there's was shit load of weed being exported to California from BC. Part of that stopped with some large busts just after COVID. At that time I couldn't find anything descent for $1200 or less and was dry as hell. Once the second hard lockdown in Nov I think 2020 in BC and Canada wide there's was instant price drop. First it started with shrooms that I couldn't find for less than $1200 for LB for about 6 months before COVID, after the second lockdown they dropped to $600 over night down to $250/lb now. About 2 months after that price of weed here in BC took a dump to about $400-600 for the same stuff I paid $1200 for before. All of a sudden there's was 0 movement in selling weed. Only stuff that sold was "quads" which I was told was being traded for white and was still going for $1800-2000.

With in 4 months of the second lock down 60-70% of my customers closed for ever, these are people who also exported to EU so not just the US market. They made their money, had descent jobs but with such a prolonged price drop and almost nothing moved they decided to end it for good. Most of them have been growing for 20-30 years.

Why do it think it was the borders, well up to the second lock down it was fine and most in the hydro store part of the industry thought we were going to not be affected much from the looks of it.

Also US is not the only export, there was a huge market to the EU and China. 90% of that is gone.

Also since the MMAR lawsuit win there have been about 5 price drops like this (at least in BC) where I was grabbing great weed for $400-600/lb but those only lasted a couple of months each time as exporters loaded up and it was dry so price went back up.

For example right before this current variant there were buyers here looking for 1000's form shit to quads. I had people coming by asking to start collecting picks. Well that died as soon as there was talk of border and inter provincial restrictions. So yes border lock downs have lots to do with it. Are there other market forces also making changes, for sure but the border is the main one.

Yes.

These stories about COVID restrictions driving prices down sound ridiculous to me.

Could you buy weed in Canada for $2 a gram in 2010? In 2000? I guess not.

There is a reason for the huge supply, and it's the fact that home-growing is practically legal, with 4 plants per household and lots more with a medical permit. It's possible to store infinite amounts of flower in your private home in some states. Including concentrates.

Look at this guy: https://www.youtube.com/c/MrCanucksGrowGuide
The Canadian situation does not look very restricted to me (some people here like to perpetuate that claim, and it's laughable).

Also, 95% of people use maybe 0.2g per day, so an ounce of weed lasts them half a year (or longer). They don't give a fuck about AAAA quality either. Most casual consumers just don't give a damn and they don't need much weed, so they go to legal dispensaries now.

The only reason to me to go to the black market is if you have a huge personal consumption and are too lazy to grow your own stuff. Then maybe it's worthwhile saving a few dollars per gram.

Listen Euro man. You keep trying to guess how it is in Canada. And your mostly and usually incorrect. Maybe you know your area better and that's fine. This is after all the Canadian section and we know BEST!
Aqua has the handle on things here pretty well and especially in BC. Look at his experience here in Canada.....HUGE Yours.....none.
You refuse to listen to those of us who know from actual experience here. Glad to have you here and hopefully you start to listen to what those here know to be true.
People who buy from the current jailer system are weak knee droppers with no pride imo. Buying from those who were happy to jail you then and still aren't the type of people I'd ever buy anything from.
You sound like you'd do anything the "man" tells you to do.

And another thing.
The luster is defiantly off indoor home growing for a lot of folks. Started out big, and now has petered out to only the really dedicated.
Growing huge moldy tree's in the backyard has a shine on it pretty good though.
So will agree somewhat. Outdoor home growing is fucking it up for sure.
But a lot of folks who grow in the yard still buy better bud somewhere else....so I dunno.

I know demand skyrocketed in the first phase of covid, but think of all that outdoor that grew that summer/people that srarted growing due to covid to respond to the demand. Then the market got saturated becaus EB everyone tought they would get rich

I'm more than intelligent enough to draw my conclusions about the situation in Canada, thank you very much.

You contribute not much except for personal attacks and ludicrous ideological bullshit.

If you don't want to talk to "Euro guys" how about joining an invite-only Canadian forum, or founding one?

As mentioned here bringing opioids or other drugs into the discussion is pretty pointless. I find cannabis activities generally on their own for business. I certainly know of no one who laces weed with anything. What a wives tale that is.
I find these two worlds rarely mix. In my circles anyway.
IMO local artisan craft weed is where it's at.
Seedy dealer??? Maybe in the movies you watch. The dealers I always got from we're always my friends or buddies trying to make a buck. Honestly the weed you find now is the safest we've ever had around here. Anyone getting from me gets pure pesticide free hand trimmed clean burning mold free.
So many fabulous choice in my town to choose from delivered to your door.
No need to feed the system that still busts people for not paying up. Essentially that is what we have. Buy trudolfs schwagg or he has his hired police forces come looking for you. Same old story. In other words buy legal or your still busted. I see through that crap pretty well.
You don't wanna be that kind of forced customer do you? Obviously you don't as I see you grow you own. Don't send you kid to the enemy.
Back in the 70’s we used to spike joints with powdered Quaaludes. We would never smoke it with anyone without telling them what we spiked it with. Ludes were 4 for a dollar. And yes ludes are smokable.

I picked up an 1/8th of Amsterdam Sativa in a local shop last week for $25. Not sure if the shops around here will last long if they sell some of what others are talking about in the dispensaries. They got away with crap the first year but it's gotten a lot better. It's still not as good as homegrown or some of the grey market I've ordered before. It's perfectly acceptable for me though.

That looks like amnesia, wonder why they call it Amsterdam sativa. Maybe the government dont want people to know that they've brought there genetics from the so called black market seed vendors same as you can. Or maybe ther trying to sell you the exact same thing multiple different ways using different names
