More classified documents found at Biden house

what the fuck?!?!...here's an idea...lets have a free turn in period, that lasts ten days...ANYONE with classified documents after that ten days is up, is going to go to at least jail for at least a week...just to make shit real.
Sorry haven't been on in a couple days. I had surgery on my arm. But I seen today that pence was found in possession of classified documents. I believe he should be investigated and possibly charged just like Biden and Trump.

This is all so Machiavellian...It just occurred to me that this could be Pence's idea of penance. Zealots can easily rationalize irrational things, they've been doing it for a long time.
He reported the documents to counter trump's crowing about Biden's document case?
Unlikely, but stranger things have already happened in the last 6 years.
As they say, ya can't make this shit up, it's been said a lot by a lot of people these past 7 years. Who can blame a reasonable fellow for being outraged over what has happened, when one is cognizant of the causes, both with the voters and the kinds of psychos and miscreants they elect and by the idiotic reasons they do it. Powerful people are trying to destroy the country because they don't want to pay taxes or support fascism or a kind of libertarian social and economic Darwinism. Some like Murdoch do it to reduce their taxes by bamboozling the voters with bullshit and even make money brainwashing the suckers. Many of them would be ok with exterminating minorities to make America white and "Christian".

While i won't just discount greed as a motive for murdoch, i think he likes the power it gives him, over both the ignorant masses and the moderately intelligent. Politicians know he can deliver the base to them, and he uses that, shamelessly, to further his own goals. His kids do the same thing, using their positions in his empire to blatantly influence their consumers, binding politicians to their will.
The entire family are not friends of democracy.

Why the Pence classified documents spell trouble for Trump

“The difference here is how they respond. That's what Trump did wrong, over and over. He took the documents, containing some of our nation's most closely guarded secrets, and he refused to give them back,” says Chris Hayes on the Pence/Biden document revelations vs. Trump’s case.

Most likely it was like Biden, lawyers found them while cleaning up details and called the national archives. It did work out kinda good for Biden however and I'm sure Pence didn't mind driving another nail in Donald's coffin. We await other document finds as others search their papers and turn them in, every one of them will make Donald's case look worse! It sure takes the wind out of the republicans talking points, just as the special counsel takes the wind out of any house Biden investigation over it.

I don't think Pence would mind fucking over Donald, but I don't believe it to be the case, this looks straight up, like Biden's case and others. Donald is in trouble for being a stupid asshole who was given multiple chances to do the right thing and that is about it, there's not much else to it.

This is a particularly amusing post. Please keep them coming. Distractions, they are amusing.

So I was curious what the exact law in question was for having classified documents.

This thing lists the 3 statutes trump is accused of violating, so going to apply to all.

It's 793, 2071, and 1519, going to grab them from cornell.

Section D of statute 793 is the distinction between trump and the others. He tried to keep stuff. Besides that one, idk...this seems like the chunk of the law you could try to apply to anyone with classified documents. Proving what anyone intended to do with them would be hard.

Statute 2071 is about willfully doing it. That's a big distinction, trump was like "fuck you it's mine" and the other guys are like "oops my bad." It's like the bad guy admitting their evil plot in a movie.

Statute 1519 is kinda the same as 2071, it's contingent on willfully/knowingly doing it...but is about trying to cover it up.

Did you guys happen to notice that I said be investigated and possibly charged.
Trump is gonna be busted for being a stupid asshole and not much else, in this case it involves serious crimes that are easily proved. If he had turned over the documents when requested and not ignored the advice of a dozen lawyers and outright threats from the DOJ, none of this shit would have happened. In the case of Biden and Pence, neither they or the national archives knew the documents were missing and when found while practicing due diligence were immediately turned over to the national archives who in turn called the DOJ when classified materials are involved. It wasn't even stealing the documents they will bust Trump over, it is for refusing to turn them back in and claiming ownership of government property publicly and obstructing justice among other things. Donald is an idiot who fucked himself and has no one else to blame after repeated warnings from a dozen lawyers who will be witnesses against him at his trial.

I must say I agree with you. Sorry I can't type much or very quickly. I messed up my arm pretty good

Who's the Grand Librarian of classified documents anyway? Why aren't we hearing more about how that person fucked up and should be fired, investigated, and potentially prosecuted?
I would guess it is an apolitical position in the government, and should not be handled in a public way if that's the case. I'm sure there will be more than a few people reprimanded, and the process of handling and tracking sensitive documents will be adjusted accordingly.

Oh, well I fell a lot better now, knowing that they will be reprimanded.

Maybe my wording could have been better, loss of employment instead of reprimand. If naming and shaming makes everyone feel better then maybe it's the right course of action as well.

Or... maybe the issue is with the system. If the Pres and VP both have the power to declassify anything, and it has been demonstrated that there is no strict procedure in doing that, did the "grand librarian" really fuck up, or is the system setup in a way that allowed this to happen? Maybe the "grand librarian" did demand they be returned, but we're told they were declassified.... Now what?

No better way of recruiting the best and brightest then to pay below private sector wages and have a public shaming hanging over their heads if the office of the Presidency doesn't follow protocol.
