6500k cfls???? pls read

hey all super noob ? here. where can i find 6500k cfls? went to home depot and didnt see any 6500k only 2700k. did i just not look hard enough it seems like its no prob for everyopne else to find them. pls let me know so i can get them asap. thx +rep fpr help

yea they are there!! if not go to a bigger city and check the menards or lowes there!! i see a better selection from my other city menards than i do mine !! MUCH BETTER!!

i agree, just look around more, not all brands label their lights with the color temp on the package. sometimes they use tricky names to describe the color temp, ie. cool, daylight, sunlight... look around enough and you will find a retailer whole has a product with the info you need, i too have this problem...

I like the GE brand Daylight 6500k .. They have a 5 year warranty . I've tried others but my plants always "lean" towards those!!

Home Depot??? They DEFINITELY carry 6500K CFLs.

Another thing to keep in mind...A lot of the brands I've seen at WalMart and Home Depot may not have the label "6500K" on the package itself. Most of the time, I see the labels like "Soft White", "Warm White", or "Daylight".

If you're looking for the 6500K, look for the packages marked "Daylight".

Donp43 he has it wrong. you WANT the DAYLIGHT bulbs because those are 6500k atleast according to GE box that im looking at right now that says "daylight 6500k"

Daylight=6500k

yea ive seen those 42watt and 68watt but both r 2700k. at my home depot they only have 23watt 6500k, i was hoping to find some 42watt 6500k cfls

If you can buy online that's the way to go! 1000bulbs.com has quite cheap CFL's if your trying to go anything over 40w and a selection that just has you going "FUCK!!!". Most stores dont carry a wide selection of bulbs because most people just look at price and go sweet thanks! plus "soft white" sounds better than "DAYLIGHT" although after I started using CFL's, i switched all the bulbs in my house to little 20w 6500K's and the place seems WAY more colorful!
I picked up 2 80w 5000k bulbs for $20 a pop on 1000bulbs.com couple weeks later i go to the hydro store and see the exact ones i have for $65! HAHAHA

its almost the same bro! my verilux says full spetrum at 6500k and my agro's say daylight and they are 6280k but IMO you want 5000k-6500k for best result and you want the highest CRI rating you can find !!
