I am going to try and avoid lights altogether if I can. The soil I bought is called islands finest starter mix. It is ph balanced and sterilized. It has peatmoss perliteand sand. Is this a suitable soil?. I got a ten L sack I'm hoping that will be enough. Also, how early is to early to put them outside. How will I know when it is time? Today we have highs of 19 degrees and lows of 9. Not a cloud in the sky very little wind

You can start them on the windowsill if it gets light. If it doesn't get sunlight then you need a light. After a couple of weeks you'll either need them in full sun or under decent lamps.

I was thinking I'd start em on my windowsill but alot of people are telling me to use a light. Do I really need to spend more money on lights , or can I live without them
Sunshine #4 is the gold standard. I use it indoors. Indicas can't stand having wet feet, and sunshine 4 never gets too wet. Outdoors you can be a bit more creative. Are you indoor or outdoor? Most PH test pens are good. It doesn't need to be to expensive. Mine was a cheaper one and came to about 40 skrillbits. Be sure to get a TDS (PPM) meter as well. Very important. Tells you how salty your water is, and allows you to feed your plants as much food as you can without burning them.
