    internal external potentiometer

The HLG series is encapsulated in silicone(?). Not worth trying to get to the PCB for repairs.

    Dont trust pyrex brand

wiki: "Pyrex (trademarked as PYREX) is a brand introduced by Corning Inc. in 1908 for a line of clear, low-thermal-expansion borosilicate glass used for laboratory glassware and kitchenware. Pyrex sold in the United States is made of tempered soda-lime glass; outside of North America the...

Best Way To Clean A Bong?

I have a deep plastic shop sink and keep a solvent tank next to it containing two gallons of Simple Green and two gallons of water. Works great for a 16 inch bong. My solvent tank: http://www.irisusainc.com/p-613-ucb-fb.aspx

    Coughing brown stuff from weed?

I got worried when the brown phlegm stopped. That means the cilia in the lungs are laying down and not bouncing back up. A year ago, it happened to me so I quit smoking for a month and now I'm back hitting the big bong and doing the morning brown lugee. Forty-five years of bong hits and I can...

    Meanwell internal potentiometer questions

Tweak it with the power on. There aren't any bare conductors in there (the HLG guts are encapsulated). Pro tip: keep one arm behind your back and don't stand in water if you're afraid of being electrocuted.

    Single COB builds

I'm glad my drivers are adjustable for current. I keep building more COB luminaires but I don't have the ambition to expand my grow. The HBG's just got turned down to 45W (from 55W) at the wall. I'm heavily invested in Cree but I wouldn't buy it today, based on what I've been reading...

    Kief question ?

The WA state rec stores carry kief and hash but it's a specialty item, just for old hippies like me, I guess. I don't patronize the stores very often (47% taxation) but this is a good blond for $35/gram including tax: Leafly.com menus will list this stuff under Concentrates but it can be hard...

    How hot is too hot

I use the pain test. I grab the heatsink with my uncalloused fingers. If it hurts before a second has elapsed, things are too hot. (Of course, if the COB is incorrectly seated the heat will not be transferred to the sink.)

    How hot is too hot

I'm sure it's not recommended but I scan the COB from a couple inches away and grab the max reading. I installed a thermocouple on one luminaire and results were similar. I want things below 85C; I'm running CBX3590's.

DIY LED Cree 3590 Re-Config Help for Closet Grow (driver help)

The Luxdator uses a three-in-one style of dimming like MeanWell, I believe. From MeanWell: "Output constant current level can be adjusted by applying one of the three methodologies between DIM+ and DIM-: 1 ~ 10VDC, or 10V PWM signal or resistance." Luxdator is providing the 12Vaux for a DC...

Adjustable spectrum LED fixtures - turn down red when finishing?

I had red/blue/white dials on my Lumigrows but never really used them. Putting a 5000K COB right over a flowering plant hasn't stopped phenotypical stretching, in my experience.
